Default What happened to Amtrak's early morning trains?

All of a sudden Amtrak has no weekday NY bound departures between 5:15am and 8:30am. Is this related to the keystone corridor upgrade?

    * Is there an abandoned/nuisance property in your neighborhood? See if it is tax delinquent. If so, maybe you can force it to go to sheriff's sale.

Must have been some glitch on the website.. they're still on the timetable and I looked up a couple trains and they were mostly on time today.

What timetable are you looking at? You might be looking only at trains that continue to Boston.

Ah, ok. There must not be trains in that timeframe that stop at EWR. Too bad.

you can thank the FAA for not allowing the airport train to connect to the nec where a sensible connection at newark could be made.

Actually the 8:28 from Philly does stop at the airport (9:36), just within your timeframe.

    A very desolate-like comment.

Not surprising. You'll need to transfer to NJ Transit to get to EWR. I suspect Amtrak doesn't stop there during peak hours in order to maximize capacity and give the time-sensitive NYP customers a faster ride.

The timeframe I mentioned was based on the actual departures. I would have to arrive at EWR before 9am, probably 8:45 at the latest, but that 5:15 train is way too early.

Plus it's a very busy railroad at that time of day. this is the problem with the FAA rule which prohibited the project from connecting to the main line. aside from the fact it doesn't offer a one seat ride from nyc, it requires other users to transfer twice OR it requires intercity trains to stop twice very close to each other. it's just another problem with the factured approach to transportation.
