The Phils are primed for a great 2013, the roster needs some tinkering and a centerfielder. I am ok with Fransden at 3rd, but Mayberry is a role player.

The Phillies are getting hot and are a much different team than started the season with the replacement of the 3B, CF, RF position players and a revised bullpen by committee. The manager deserves a lot of credit for not letting this team fold especially after a tough ninth inning loss over memorial weekend to the Braves by blowing a 5 run 9th inning lead. 3 1/2 back with 19 to go. Let's Go Phillies, Let's Go. So again, is it "Yes We Can" or Ya Gotta Believe"

That was Dave Cash's slogan in 1974. The Phils second baseman by 1977 was Ted Sizemore. And, although McGraw did resurrect "ya gotta believe" for the 1980 Phils, he originally used it when he was with the '73 Mets who went from last place in NL East in early September to the world series.

Team has a handful of young guys and journeymen that have something to prove and they seem to be playing like it. Then the team also has back Utley who plays 110% no matter what. It's even contagious to J-Roll, who even apologized for slacking on a play several weeks ago.

Team has heart and they are going to fight it out until the end.

Mathematically the Phils have not yet been eliminated. They are currently 3.5 games behind. This win against the Mets, and R.A. Dickey, their starting pitcher, was huge.
