So, some issues with the longball, but K and BB rates look decent. He's considered a high upside bullpen arm, and he'd probably become the Phils' 7th inning guy. We don't know who the second player will be.
His home/road splits are pretty staggering. Which is, well, not a good thing when you're going from a pitcher to a hitter's park.

Couldn't agree more on Pence. Mediocre and overpaid describes him perfectly. He is going to be a circus in SF's outfield. What an awful trade that was last year.

They bought high and sold low. It is what it is. If he played this season like he did last season, they either wouldn't have traded him or they would have gotten more in return.

Very classy. Reminds me of when David Akers left as well.

I hate those radio spots. Not having those makes the Pence trade even better.

Carlos Ruiz's success a testament to hard work and dedication - ESPN

Dont know if this has been posted anywhere but good article about Chooch.

"Compton also would challenge catchers by having them catch high-velocity pitches -- usually at 100 mph -- from a machine that was placed only 20 feet from them. The catchers would strap protective gear on their arms to avoid shattering their wrists. "I would armor them up like an English knight," Compton said."

    That is nuts

Good news for Phillies fans, Obama has declared the Phillies too big to fail and has committed billions of tax payers money to help bail them out of last place.

So far the Obama taxpayer bailout of the Phillies is paying dividends and the Phightin Phils have moved into sole possession of third place within the division and are poised to finish the season 30-5 to make the wild card playoff race very interesting.
