The people who recorded this episode and posted it on the web, but who did NOT call 911, should be charged with a crime.

thank you. the end of the world won't be reported to people who can fix the problem, it will be taped by video phones.

the flyers fans look like a bunch of drunken losers. that's just ridiculous. and yes i agree, it was a sucker punch, looked as if it was over then bam....

    I'd agree to that.
If you believe people should work till they die to pay for a government worker to retire at 50, you're a Democrat. Otherwise, you're a Republican. All other differences between the parties are trivial.

No, I am afraid I don't understand....not coming to physical blows, no. If someone attacked me physically, yes, I understand defending myself....other than that? There's no need to hurt someone over civic pride.

Am I missing something? How on earth can physical violence ever be justified (except in self defense)?

Danny is correct. I see fights breaking out all the time at the Philadelphia Orchestra when Baltimore Orchestra fans come up to listen. Nothing funnier than seeing old Main Liners in Tuxes going at it!

I don't understand why people find this to be so shocking, this happens in the parking lot of every Eagles' game, most Flyers' playoffs games, and anytime the Phillies play the Red Sox.

The only reason this is getting any attention is because the media coverage on this Winter Classic event was so intense, then it got a little legs because the guy was a vet.

I don't understand for the life of me why people from other cities wear their jerseys in Philly. This is not Charlotte, it's Philly, the city where "blue collar" fans having been trying to break the faces of opposing fans since 1974.

I think its a simple as people wanting to stone jerk-offs. Its senseless violence. I like the media coverage and the fact that asswhipes willing to hospitalize someone over tribalism are being called out.

I wouldn't wear an opposing jersey to a home game either, but its just idiotic to beat someone down over an obvious minor difference.
Its really not much different than KKK beating up blacks for being in "their" neighborhood or drug turf wars. I don't want goons like those fans on my turf nor do I want to pay for their incarceration.

Watched the game at O'Neal's. There was a big dude there wearing a Sean Avery NYR sweater. For those who don't know, Avery is a bit of a controversial figure in NY sports. Wearing that dude's number in a Philly bar is just asking for trouble. To top it off, he kept playing New York-themed songs on the juke. Even though he was asking for trouble, he got none. As it should be.

It could be argued that with his behavior, he was spoiling for a fight.

The ironic thing about this is that all of the actors are probably from Jersey.

civic pride? you are out of your mind. these are people that themselves, excell at nothing. so they care wayyy too much about their heroes, who excell in their sport of choice. and earlier you said that "common sense goes a long way." yet another nonsensical statement from DannyC.
