Default If you are no longer receiving income to pay the rent do you just call the landlord and say

My UC has stopped and I have no other way to pay the rent so I will be moving out on this date?

Never been in this situation before

When my UC stopped, I asked the rep on the phone what other options there were. He suggested this:

    Apply for Benefits

I haven't had to follow through with the whole process, thank goodness, but it seems fairly straightforward. Best of luck to you...

Post your skills on the classifieds here maybe someone here can hire you.

Call the landlord and explain the situation. Tell them you want to break the lease as an alternative to staying and not paying rent. A good landlord will respect it. As a landlord, I would rather have to find another paying tenant than to deal with an eviction.

now I know why you're out of work, no jobs, no counseling. Things will pick up after Nov.6 if Americans do the right thing and clean house. Why can't you get a extension on your UB ?

UC ends for everyone on Dec 29th unless you are in your initial 26 weeks. Starting in 2013 there won't be anymore extensions

Start saving, get a mate and cross your fingers. I had to dip into savings for a few months when mine ran out. I lucked out though and got one 2.5 months later. This was back when Bush was in office before sh*t hit the fan and the republican's didn't want to extend the benefits.

My better half helped out, but you might give the LL a heads up when you start hitting the panic button .I wouldn't count on them extending it either. It ended up getting extending after being stalled for a few months back in 2008, but I had already had the job and ate most of my savings.
