Most problematic landlords can be easily spotted through habitually late property taxes and a litany of cases in Municipal Court with the landlord listed as the defendant. When you narrow down your list of apartments you're interested in and before you pull out that checkbook, spend a few minutes doing these searches.
It can help save you aggravation later when you're stuck in a rental contract you wish you hadn't signed.
