We popped in to check out the new Trestle Inn Monday night and did we come away impressed. Giant projections of 60s style go-go girls dance on the walls. An entire section of the drinks menu is dedicated to whiskey sours. The menu is much more impressive than we expected. We say yes to pigs in a blanket and four kinds of caseroles. We passed on the pickled pigs feet behind the bar but kind of dig that they’re there.

Get there for happy hour that runs from from 5 to 8 p.m. and features features ½ price pitchers of whisky sours, $3 Craft Cans and a featured whiskey of the evening

I had wanted to check the place out before the renovations. I had heard some great stories about the place.

    Looks like a nice venue.

These forum fights are really funny. So pointless to the world yet so important to the people in them. Yawn.

Alright children. The adults are trying to have a conversation here.

As for the Trestle Inn...that pic that MTEMPLE posted is pretty damn hot. Can't wait to check it out.

It's a great neighborhood bar. I'll definitely spend more time there when I'm back in town.

And then people lacking intelligence have to come in out of nowhere and act superior while erroneous in their perceptions in such a serious thread about a semi-rebuilt titty bar turned hipster lounge. Yawn.

Been here a couple of times now, and I like it a lot. Classic whiskey sours are yum, as are most of the food items...the pickled pigs feet are as gross as you think they would be, ha ha. I highly recommend the beef jerky, deviled eggs and ESPECIALLY the pork dumplings.

Grub Street had a link to a music video that was shot inside the old Trestle Inn, but this "behind the scenes" video shows more of it: "White Boy" BEHIND-THE-SCENES! - YouTube

Anyone know how packed it gets on the weekends, especially around 1030-11? Might be heading over there tonight.

Was there with some friends for a couple hours - it was crowded but mobbed. Really enjoyed it - the atmosphere is fantastic and drink prices are reasonable (signature cocktails and martinis were $6-$7 with a couple for $5).

How was that? The event seemed interesting but I was already booked solid for the evening.

We left around 11PM. The go-go dancer in the front room danced for a few songs, but then the speakers seemed to crap out and she gave up. Drinks were very slow coming...there was only one bartender most of the time, and she got overwhelmed. Didn't help that there were a lot of orders for their specialty cocktails, which require egg-white separating and muddling. Also, they were supposed to have free snacks, but I don't recall seeing those anywhere. We ended up ordering pigs in a blanket, which took a really long time to come out and were overcooked.

Upside was that the crowd was nice (as it usually is; the place draws fun, chill people), and we were able to get a cab because we left so early.

Oh well, it was New Year's Eve. I think we'll be staying in next year--it will be cheaper and we won't have to wait around for food and drink.

This is the first year that I stayed in. Just couldn't get over the crap show I say last year, let alone this year-the night before new years. People are getting more than a bit spastic. I'd like to attribute it to the jersey shore.

Totally agree; that's why we had planned to steer clear of Old City. We did swing by Sassafras around 1:30, however, which was fine.

That's cool. I felt bad since my friends from new orleans were in town and at the irish pol... but I just couldn't do it.

I was there for NYE as well///good crowd and the Bartenders and doorman were all very good. We didn't get food as it was pretty crowded but the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was pretty chill. However, I thought we were promised a live band, which I was a little bummed about.
