Pffft....no idea. It's my old man. He used to race a lot back in the day when apparently everyone's uncle owned a junk yard, Cherry Hill was still orchards and all of you drove '63 Vettes .

He always used to mention racing Ronnie Sox. I'll have to see if he ever got deeper into racing than just tearing up Landis Avenue (grew up in Camden though). He's just about 70 y.o. now FWIW.

If memory serves me Sox & Martin were from the south and did a lot touring. I doubt if ATCO or any track in this area was their home track. Sox was a Super Stock car and your dad probably ran in that class. Ramsey was from Wilmington Del and raced for Union Park Pontiac, Strickler ran out of Jenkins shop and his Chevy was the Old Reliable and I don't remember if his MoPars had a name. Joe Gardner (sp?) was the Northwind and he ran at Cecil County & ATCO etc and worked near me in West Phila, he was a working (Air Force Recruiter) stiff also. I raced a black '63 Catalina from 63 to 67 in E/SA. I remember one S/S car that ran ATCO a lot but had no lettering, a black '61 Pontiac sedan that did well but it would have been hard to run that class with consistent sucess w/o some sort of a sponsor.

Here's a shot of one Sox & Martin's cars, they were one of many touring pros. Google has a lot on them.

Dad says that was probably Bobby Karup (sp?) out of Camden.

Also had a cousin Michelle by the same last name who raced Camaros down Landis Avenue, but that had to have been the 70s. Supposedly she was a real ass-kicker.

In '62 I was racing a red Catalina convertible but your dad would have been in a higher class. Running S/S against dealer and manufacturer backed cars would have been like beating your head against a wall. That was also the year the 413 Ram Air MoPars hit and they were ugly as sin but would fly.

Took this shot of a Lotus Type 72D a couple weeks ago at a car show in Doylestown.

That's a serious detail job. Another coat of wax and that thing would just camouflage into the background.

I remember Joe from the early 60's when he had a red S/S Chevy 409. He was a Sgt in the Air Force and worked at a recruiting station at 52nd and Chestnut Sts. He drove the Chevy on the street with a large large Northwind thing on the side and full lettering. I don't remember the dragster but I recall more than one stock class car.
