Just moved the telecomm in my NJ office to VOIP and fiber. Unfortunately my NJ office is still on Verizon copper. Union building so my carrier can't get fiber in there.

A friend of mine, who is in this union, keeps posting on his facebook about how they "are trapping scabs like rats" and "if anyone sees any Verizon trucks around South Philly, call me so we can trap them in" Ahh... the Union....

Most unions but this one in particular have outlived their usefulness. I know personally of some of their guys who used to pull wires or flip switches to purposely knock service out for a few customers. They could then spend time the next day "diagnosing" and fixing the problem they caused. Oh yeah, and that was on overtime on many occaisions because you couldn't "rush" the few jobs that had to be done in the 1st 8 hours.

If you are ever lucky enough to go into any Verizon central office, check out the bathrooms. These guys are like middle school children who deface company property with graffiti while they relieve themselves. By the way, Joe the COT is gay, according to reports from the bathroom wall. And, the Cowboys suck. Then why do they have more rings than the Eagles....etc, etc, etc.

Their mentality is generally far from advanced.

Oh the irony that he says “you are taking our jobs”.. Seems to me if he was doing his job, instead of endangering his daughter, no one would be there to take their place. Just seems to show the mental agility of these people

Hmmm. That clip and article don't really do much to improve my view of unions.

How would Verizon go about just replacing all of the union people permanantly? Think of how much lower you phone, cable and dsl bills would be if someone who was paid for an 8 hour shift actually worked for most of the 8.

Scab, I'll be standing on my own picket line, DoggyStyle, 12?/Passyunk, we're there everyday but I'm there Mondays from 10:30 till 5, come on down, I don't want to kick your ass, just explain our cause and why we don't like scabs and 1090 workers and ......alot of stuff

Actually, it's not a picket line that I'm on, just a handbilling campaign, my bad, but I have taken my kids to strike picket lines in the past, nothing wrong with in in my eyes, teach them young to stand up to corporate greed.

The middle class has been taking it up the ass for years now since Reagan, enough is enough.

Oh, you gave me one today- whoever was there last week was lazy, I walked by 3 days with my dog and wondered what the guys had in their hands! And I still never understand the "don't support someone because they don't support my union" stuff.... so because they don't use your union, I shouldn't buy my dog toy there? I'm all for some Union ideas, Verizon employees were given a pension, and now they want to take it back-OK, I'd be pissed too... but I'm not standing outside of a business trying to hurt them by telling people not to shop there because they hired independent contractors!
