We have three female cats. One that was fixed years ago, and two in heat that are going to be fixed in January.

I was surprised to see that the two unfixed ones are alternately posturing on each other like a male would on a female cat --
standing on top of her with full body contact and biting the neck. It's just completely bizarre.

They are also rolling around, meowing, rubbing, and wrestling on and off all day in this fashion.

So does anyone know if female cats in heat resort to lesbian play when there are no males around?

My dog (female) humps everybody and every dog at the park when she's in heat.

It's normal behavior, when you mix hormones, procreating and alpha instincts plus plain old "hornyness", you get yourself a humping female dog/cat.

this type of behavior is also used to establish dominance in multi-pet households. just remember, when you cat tries to hump you, you must establish your dominance by humping back

My male cat goes over to my female cat and sticks his face all up in her hooha and goes to town while the female rolls over on her back and enjoys it. Sorta like kitty porn. LOL
