Carlie (A17435735) is an absolutely adorable 5 year old “pocket pit” weighing in at only 29 pounds! She’s the size of a puppy, but the temperament of an adult! She is so itsy bitty and petite she fits perfectly on your lap! We think she had a Chihuahua or Italian greyhound in her family history since she is so small! Carlie is a lovely, friendly little girl who is eager to please! She appears to be housebroken but may need a refresher course of potty training when she goes to her new home. She is relatively calm and gentle, but can get silly and playful too- just the perfect balance of energy! Poor Carlie came into the shelter in pretty poor condition, underweight, with some hair loss, and what we believe are bilateral luxating patellas, which means that both of her knees are weak and she walks a little funny. Carlie is likely going to need an orthopedic consult and either surgery or physical therapy for her knees at some point, and we cannot provide that care here so she needs to leave ASAP! Carlie also was on treatment for kennel cough but she is not recovering as well as we’d like- her kennel cough is very severe and she will certainly recover better in a home environment. Carlie needs to find a rescue, foster or adoptive home ASAP or risks euthanasia!!!! Please help!!! Photos at:
