Default What Is Some Good Hypoallergenic Dog Food

Hypoallergenic dog food will help those canines that suffer from dog food allergies. Allergy free dog food or dog food for skin allergies will help relieve your dog from all that scratching. If your canine has persistent itching, they most likely have fleas or are allergic to something in their diet. The most common dog food ingredients that can cause allergies in your dog are beef, milk, eggs, corn, soy and wheat.

The best diet for a dog is a high quality, meat based diet. Dogs are carnivores and require meat in their diet to keep their skin and coat healthy, and give them the energy they need in their daily lives. Remember that dogs can develop dog food allergies over time, so it may not be evident right away. The best way to determine if your canine needs hypoallergenic canine food or allergy free food is to eliminate all the possible allergens by putting your dog on a homemade diet containing foods that you have never feed them before.

This usually consists of a protein and a starch. An example is one part lamb, venison or rabbit, mixed with two parts rice or potatoes. During this trial period, nothing else can be fed to your dog like table scraps, biscuits, or heartworm pills. After up to twelve weeks of your dog sticking to this diet, put them back on their original food. If they start the scratching and itching, then you know your canine has dog food allergies and needs hypoallergenic canine food.

Where is a good place to buy hypoallergenic dog food? My dog ( Jack Russell) has the same problem with scratching and I tried going that route for her diet.
Also - I got her fleas under control by giving her one garlic and Brewers yeast pill a day. Fleas hate the smell of that stuff and it seems to keep the fleas at bay since
front line doesn't always last the entire month and is expensive too.

I put my boxer on Natural Balance Duck and Potato kibble, it is one of several Limited Ingredient kibbles that this brand manufactures. This food has done WONDERS for my dog! I would highly recommend it, and feed ONLY this food for 3 months straight (that means no treats, no bones, flavored chew-toys like nylabones, etc.) and then at the end of 3 months you should be able to determine whether it's helped her or not. My dog went from being on the max. dose of benadryl 24/7 and STILL itching, to being on NO benadryl and not itching at all. And BTW if you are currently giving your dog antihistamines you need to stop those too as soon as you start the new diet.

I am not familiar with hypoallergenic dog foods but I would have to say that there is very little to what they pose as advantages.

Probably the biggest bet that you could get is how it is going to affect humans as they are seeing it and smelling everything altogether.

I just hope that it would be something that would benefit people that will be making use of them just like that.

Yes, agreed. Home made diet is best for our pet dogs. I had a first hand experience of it with my snoopy; but after few weeks of making pet food at home, the scarcity of time forced me to search for some alternative. It was then that, I found out an innovative source on line. Tried their hypo allergenic bag for ten days. Snoopy first hated it, but now when he started consuming it, I am noticing that he is more active too.

My dog likes it but the diarrhea is way too much. It was like a river and took a week to clean it up.

This is a great line of dog food. Really GREAT.

Plenty of choices depending on what your dog is allergic to. Also may not be from food but from environment, cleaning solutions etc...

It's great to see people taking such great care with their dog!
