Sunday, June 12, 2011 - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Ryerss is going to the dogs! Come celebrate the Ryerss and their love of animals. You can see a special pet exhibit and go on a dog scavenger hunt in the museum. Come see the pet cemetery and the exquisite paintings of the Ryerss' beloved pets.
The animal-related charities the Ryerss helped found will be there, including the Pennsylvanica SPCA, The Anti-Vivisection Society and the Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines. The Pennsylvania SPCA will have their mobile adoption unit with pets available for adoption. Other animal rescues will be there as well, and there will be a collection site for blankets, toys, treats, collars and other supplies for animals.
Bring your dog for the Pooches on Parade at noon! A prize will be given to the most Victorian dog.
Many pet-related organizations will also be on hand.
