    Default Does Your Cat Snore?

My cat snores and I want to know if this is normal?

She has gained weight in the past year and I want to make sure she isn't having a hard time breathing when she sleeps.

Please tell me your experience. Thanks!

Manny use to snore. And on the rare occasion he audibly farted, it use to scare him & make him jump.

Yup, male, 10ish year old fully clawed American shorthair domestic type rescue, snores like a champ. Cute as hell when he's really sawing wood.

Yeah, 2 out of 3 of mine snore. One farts. I'd rather go with the snoring....

I have had several cats who snore, though quite softly. I find dogs snore more robustly, at least based on my visits with dog-owning friends (oh, and human babies snore too, sometimes quite loudly, which was a major surprise to me when my first sone was born).
Owl looked at Rabbit and wondered whether to push him off the tree, but feeling that he could always do it afterward, he tried once more to find out what they were talking about.

Yep, my kitty snores, too. Cutest thing ever. I've also wondered if she has difficulty breathing, but the vet said it's ok.

yup...almost 10 yr old male tabby...snores and farts on occassion. It's funny to see him sleep with his paw over his face and eyes while he snores away..

We have three. One snores, the other farts, and the last one just walks around hissing at the other two. It's like we hit the trifecta!

beef diet possibly? Actually rarely feed my cat Beef or even fish. The latter he doesn't even touch practically. He loves poultry....mainly turkey. Not sure what induces his farts. To the person who said their cat is scared by their own farts you should see my cat when I blow the colon....priceless reaction ...LOL!

Manny once ate a bouquet of purple tulips. Besides turning his white bib purple, it gave him a wicked bout of gas. All night he's make a toot, jump, and run around try to figure out where it was coming from - even from a dead sleep. The fact that he smelt like a pile of poo apparently didn't help him figure it out.

Good to know about human babies! I didn't know that! Pugs are probably the most obnoxious snorers of all dogs. That and their darn smokers' cough! So cute!

These critters just never learn! I have noticed the affinity for eating plants and flowers and it is hard to have anything in the window that isn't really thick, like a snake plant, or prickly, like a catus.
