    Default Early intervention problems?

Does anyone have any experience dealing with problems related to early intervention, specifically with Elwyn? We're having issues with our son's services not being delivered and we're not getting return phone calls. Just wondering if others have had similar issues and if so, how far up the "chain of command" do we need to go? Has anyone had to go all the way to state office of child development?
    Thanks.

If your child has an EI IEP, you must receive the services listed in the amount specified. If all service is not given during the time the IEP is in effect, you are entitled to compensatory time. I will say this, sometimes service is listed as number of minutes or number of sessions during the duration of the IEP. That may not translate into a set number of minutes per week or month but by the end of the IEP term, all minutes or sessions should have been completed. Perhaps if you are getting little or no service during the summer, the time will be made up during the rest of the year. Still, it would have been good for Elwyn to tell you that if that's the case. And take it from me, PLENTY of parents have gone all the way to the State Department of ED whether or not their claims had merit. Before you do that, I think you should let Elwyn know, in your next message, that this is your intention and see if that works. Good luck.

Are you talking about the Elwyn SEEDS program? I have had such a hard time getting through to them regarding the students that I work with. They completely dropped the ball on one kid until I called multiple times to complain and follow up. I finally just started calling the director of the program (I think her name is Bonnie Lundy or something like that, I found her name and # on their website). She was very helpful and made sure that the process moved along, so I would to straight to her (or the director of whatever program you're working with).
