Exclamation Old City / Society Hill Resources (bars, Restaurants, shopping, SEPTA stops everything!)

    1) DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT

    Bars
    -Race St (208 Race St)
    -Charlie's (114 N 3rd)
-Sassafras (48 S 2nd) Good unusual burgers...think bison, ostrich, etc
-National Mechanics (a bit larger, good music, 22 S 3rd)
    -Society Hill Hotel (corner 3rd/Walnut)
    -Eulogy (Belgian bar, 136 Chestnut)
-Il Panorama (Wine bar, 14 N Front)-the bar, not the restaurant dining room.

    Restaurants
    -Uzu Sushi (104 Market)
    -Mizu Sushi (220 Market)
-Zento Sushi (138 Chestnut) -- None of these have atmosphere; they're all "takeout" style places though you can eat in. All great choices for regular quick meals or when you don't need to impress
-Haru Sushi (corner 3rd/Chestnut) has my least favorite sushi, though they have an impressive space and a great bar-its also good if you have someone in the group who would rather eat something besides sushi.
-Kisso Sushi (corner 4th/Race)-its BYO, has a traditional bar setup for omakase as well as a dining room. They're really friendly, and the food is pretty good. Our favorite with groups.

-Ristorante Panorama (14 N Front St) -Italian (traditional)
-Radicchio (402 Wood St) - Italian (more relaxed, modern)

Burgers-See bars above. Eulogy, Triumph, and Society Hill Hotel also have good burgers/bar food.

-Continental (corner 2nd/Market) is a Starr joint with a fun menu and has a retro modern martini bar vibe, Jones (also Starr, just outside OC at the corner of 7th/Chestnut) has more of a comfort food menu in a cool space. Farmicia (15 S 3rd) for good, locally sourced food.
-Fork (306 Market) is a fantastic dinner place for a reat food, great wine, and an elegant but not stuffy atmosphere.
-Amada (217 Chestnut) is amazing and you can spend an evening there.
-Cafe Ole (147 N 3rd) for simple but good fare. A good daily routine kind of place.
-Snow White (corner of 2nd/Market) is a basic greasy spoon choice to cure hangovers.
    -Farmicia - Quick breakfast/lunch
-National Mechanics for really good food, though I've had some service hiccups there.
    -Continental for the Starr take.
-Old City Cheese - (160 N 3rd) when the weather is nicer for a really nice fresh brunch in their "secret garden".
-Plough and Stars for a traditional Irish breakfast, with requisite puddings. All have fantastic drinks except Old City Cheese-its BYO, with really only juices, so make it champagne or prosecco unless you like your vodka straight.

    Pizzerias
SOHO (218 Market). We've tried them all and they are still the best. Strange service and spotty delivery "rules" but that garlic crust makes up for it.
    Gianfranco - 3rd and Market

    Other Takeout
-Fork etc (306 Market) - is next to the restaurant and has upscale prepared foods and delicious salads.
-Old City Coffee is also good for a quick bite
-Old City Cheese has great fresh soups and panini sandwiches
    -Campos (214 Market) for sandwiches/hoagies
-For ice cream (116 Market) Franklin Fountain is a throwback to the old time parlors

    Coffeeshops
-Starbucks is at 3rd and Arch.
-Old City Coffee (221 Church) was first, and is nicer if you're going to sit and people watch.
-Double Shots is further south on Chestnut (never been!).
-Cafe Ole on 3rd also has great brew if you take your coffee simple.

    Nightclubs

    Theaters
-The Arden on 2nd for live performances; the Ritz (3 locations in OC) for movies.

    Museums
-OC is more of a gallery scene...too much to list. Take a walk around!

    Other entertainment

    Signature events
-First Fridays-the art galleries open their doors to all comers for an "open house" type of event the 1st Friday of each month.

    -Sassafras (3rd/Race)
    -Mulberry (Arch btwn 2nd/3rd)
