    Really like this design

Also just around the corner this has been redesigned and now approved

As well as this now approved

With the Ren some form of possibility this area could really see some change for the better IMHO (Though hate the Ren design)

Anyone know of any real plans to pretty up DE Ave and make it a little friendlier. Think reducing the number of lanes could be a good start

Rob Kettell, a member of the Central Delaware Advocacy Group, testified after the Commission staff’s recommendation of the approval that “there is no physical reason” for the building to exceed the 65-foot height limit based on the conditions of the parcel. He said the only reason he could think the developer needed to do so would be to get a greater financial return on the building.

“I’m not sure that greed is a legitimate reason to get rid of a longterm city policy,” Kettell concluded

While initially, I was not a fan of the place at pier 34/35; after realizing it was SOUTH of Dockside, and not North, I feel a little bit better about it. Sounds selfish, but as it is, my waterfront views are compromised by Dockside, which wasn't there when the place was built. Now, if they want to give me a variance to put a roof deck on my 4 story house, I'd feel even better about the whole thing.

Anything to make the waterfront a better place and increase the reasons to cap 95, I'm in.

Yeah this design is pretty awesome. It's one more small step forward for the Delaware waterfront, bringing some much needed density to Old City's fringe.

BTW, there were and are Old City residents who support the project. One of 'em is a contributor to the blog I edit and wrote this.

He's working on an interview with one of the Brown Hill partners laying out their case in more detail; I hope to be able to run it before the ZBA hearing.

That the City Planning Commission threw rule-based formalism and the OCCA's objections aside and voted for the project I find encouraging. I think the building is quite stylish and distinctive and will add a welcome contrast to the Old City structural mix.

205 Race St was recently posted on Archdaily.

It looks pretty good to me:

...or us, for that matter, and I had teased a followup on it.

No online update on the L&I database beyond the 9/5 continuance either.

Think I or one of my contributors needs to contact Brown Hill to see what the ZBA did.

It's been moved, again, to Dec something. You can easily get the info by looking on the newest notice posted on the lot fence.

Large gasoline fireballs were exploding on the lot today.

I've heard the project has been pulled and is undergoing a re-design.

Cue posters who don't know anything to start blaming NIMBY's and hordes of drunk college kids.
