Is the old NPS headquarters at 3rd and Chestnut ever going to be renovated? As is, it's a complete eyesore in the biggest tourist spot of the city. It's already an ugly building, but when I walked by yesterday I noticed that there were weeds and small trees sprouting up around the foundation and covering the sidewalk. If this was a private establishment, they'd have been fined months ago. I know for a while that the American Revolution Center was wanting to use this spot for its museum, however that seems to be going nowhere fast. Does the NPS still even own this building?

I'm glad you started this thread. I noticed the same mess around the place. If I live here and think it is a mess wonder what the tourists think.

Yeah...that pretty much outlines my feelings about the building. The maintenance issues just serve to highlight its ugliness. It's not like it's some old historic building that, even though it needs a coat of paint, still is pleasant or interesting to look at. It's somewhat embarrassing that it once hosted a foreign head of state.
