    Default Car Vandalism last night

    My car was parked in front of Wedge and Fig last night. Found it this morning with footprints all over the trunk, roof and hood. And the front windshield is completely smashed in. Probably several thousand worth of damage. Thank god for insurance. Wondering if anyone else found anything vandalized in Old City last night?

    This post is unnecessarily harsh, eh?

    Did you report it to the police by any chance? If so, I can put it on the list of incidents to ask about at the PSA meeting tomorrow evening.

    Also, if there are cameras in the SafeCam network nearby, they can check to see if it was caught on video.

    I take it no other cars parked near by had any damage to them?

    First of all, I'm not a noob. Born and raised in Philadelphia and have been living in Old City for the past two years. Second, I never leave anything in my car and didn't Tuesday night either.

    Yes, the first thing I did was report it to the police. I didn't see that any other cars were damaged.

    GStanza = Mook. Ignore him.

    What happened sucks. Sounds like work of teenage wannabe thugs or drunk frat boys, who thought you parked too close their ride.

    Would definitely appear, based on the info. provided, that the OP's car was singled out. The potential reasons are endless.

    Yea,because living in South Philly, we can always park right out front of our houses and watch our cars all night. I have had 3 windows broken in the last 5 years (lived in South Philly for 27 of my 34 years)..all with nothing of value inside, and nothing taken..just stupid kids the first two times who thought it was funny, and the 3rd time an ashtray was ripped out because, I assume, a crack head was looking for change. This has nothing to do with being a "noob"... in the most part it's one of two things- Kids being idiots...or Crackheads looking for change.

    yeah, sh*t happens. I know that this kind of thing could happen in the safest neighborhood on the main line too. Wasn't really posting here to complain, just to see if anyone else heard of any other vandalism.

    NO WAY! No body BORN AND RAISED IN PHILLY actually calls the police when their car gets broken into! Why? Because you KNOW they wont do ANYTHING about it! So next time make sure to keep all belongings out of sight! Mr. Im from Philly (lol)

    Geez, didn't you read the part where the OP said, "I never leave anything in my car and didn't Tuesday night either"? I don't think anybody is enlightened or amused by your annoying two cents.

    And yes, I was raised in South Philly and called the cops... it's called a police report, ya know, for insurance claims in case you can file it with your insurance.
