Did anyone else see this go on last night? It was pretty strange.
I was dozing off, when around 2:15-2:30AM, I heard music being blasted out of a car in the lot next to the liquor store on 2nd Street. This is not unusual, of course. I peeked through the curtains expecting to see a few drunk idiots partying around their car.
But it was just one guy. He had all his car doors and even the trunk open, and was in the process of taking random junk out and placing it on the ground. He seemed wasted or disturbed, or both. I looked out just in time to see an irate neighbor walk over and tell him to turn his damn music off (he did without argument).
This guy seemed to be wearing one of the lamest Halloween costumes ever: a sleeveless basketball shirt over army fatigues, with what appeared to be a colonial-style tri-cornered hat. He stuffed large items in his pants pockets, that didn't fit and were hanging out. Then he began putting some of the items that were on the ground back in the car. Then out on the ground again. Another neighbor strolled over and spoke to him for a while...I assume he was asking him what the heck he was doing. The neighbor eventually walked away looking bewildered.
Now here's where it got really interesting. The guy starting piling all of his items in the middle of the mostly-empty parking lot--which included large pieces of cardboard, what seemed to be part of a decorative picket fence, random frame or stand-type things, clothes. He walked back and forth a bit, and then started taking off layers of clothes he was wearing, and putting them on the pile.
One of the items he kept moving around looked a lot like a square-ish red container. I was seeing this from about 70-80 feet away, however, so I couldn't be sure what it was exactly. It made me a little uneasy, though.
Then what seemed like a long time later, the guy walked away from his car and pile toward my street and out of my view. A couple of minutes later, he walked back to his stuff and started putting it all back in the car. While he was doing this, a couple with a dog walked by him, and wow, that dog did not like the situation AT ALL--the couple really had to fight to restrain him/her.
Finally, he shut all the doors and trunk of his car, picked up his red container(?) and took off down 2nd St. on a skateboard. The car was gone when I woke up a few hours later.
