Default A look back at recent Old City history

These two articles came out before my time here in OC, so it was fascinating to learn who was fighting the good fight back then, who has survived and who hasn't.

"There are fights on the streets, sometimes twice in a weekend"
Only twice? Ah, the good old days. From 1999:

Bar fight erupts in Old City - Philadelphia Business Journal

Coyote Ugly will offer a full menu, serving entrees of steak and pasta dishes. "It's not going to be a Continental or Fork, but it will be good portions at good prices," Callanan said.
    HAHAHA. I didn't know they'd served food. From 2002:

and you moved there when exactly?

    Before this was happening?

Hmmm...do you mean before the good Old City bars/restaurants were trying to keep the bad ones out? That is what the linked stories are about.

The idiot probably doesn't even know it was a Rib-it before Glam and Live Bait. And owned by a Paul Rimmeir a pioneer of Old City.

Ahh...the rib-it, I recall being a young lad and enjoying some ribs at that place, all I remember is my grandfather (in his very late years) freaking out because the guy across the building looked just like him, and kept staring... he was looking at the giant mirror on the wall...funny and sad all at the same time! I don't think I realized that was the location though, good call.
