A side note in an article on the groundbreaking for Home2Suites at 12th & Arch:

Ground broken for a new Center City hotel

Projects that were delayed but are now back in the pipeline, according to industry experts, include a 178-room hotel at 401 Race St., known as the Pincus Brothers Building project, and a 90-room Juniper Hotel at Juniper and Chestnut Streets. Both are trying to complete financing.

You're leaving out the really important part--the fact that this is being underwritten with grants from the city.

Yes, unfortunately that almost goes without saying these days.

    "a side note" ???

This seems like it is going to be one mugly-bore of a building. But its all part of the plan. It will make the new Family Court be appreciated for not being worse.

Are you talking about 4th and Arch or the Styrofoam box at 12th & Arch? If the latter, then I agree completely.

Referring to the styrofoam box at 12th, and the new family court building up the street around 15th. Both looking to be quite vanilla-tan boring, though architectural renderings are almost always a off a bit so there may be hope.

Something does not need off-the-charts different to be nice, for instance the Federal Detention Center, 7th and Arch (which you might have been refering to). It's pretty nice for what it is, considering it is a prison that's unfortunately next to the AAM.

Who knows about the Pinkus site. I thought it was up for sale again?
