    Default Halloween

Has anyone heard anything about Halloween possibly being postponed until later this week? It was mentioned on Channel 6 earlier as a possibility but I haven't heard anything since? I have candy for 500 and I don't want to have to eat it all!

LOL...lots of suburbs do it all the time..And there was a FB page trying to change it in Mayfair only but the Civic Association put out a message that Halloween is not postponed.

Its a mess with so many different communities making plans for a alternative date for Halloween. From Thursday to Saturday dates have been picked..

in NJ, Gov. Christie said he will make an executive order to delay Halloween if need be...

In NJ where there is so much damage, I can understand. In Philly, where there was not so much, it's unnecessary.

Depends on power and how any trees and such are still around tomorrow night...like I said, its a community by community base thing...

But for the most part I know most are going to be giving candy out tomorrow in Philly...

Holy ham fritters! This was the first year my wife and I have been home on Halloween since we moved to Mayfair three years ago. I couldn't park on my street after work because there were so many cars. We went through 300 pieces of candy in about two hours.

Same here. Last year - 4 kids, this year- at least 50.

I wouldn't say there were as many kids this year as previous years. The trick-or-treaters were only out about an hour on my block. I didn't see any kids after 7:30 PM. A couple of years ago, there were so many kids I had to make two trips to CVS to get more candy.

My street seemed to be the same. Not that we were ever down to 4, but some years it has been pretty thin, but not last night. There was a pretty continuous stream from 5:30 - 7:30.

I had to run out around 6:30 to get more candy. I would've just shut the door and turned out the lights, but my wife loves standing outside and seeing all the kids in their costumes. Gotta keep Management happy....

I always stock up on candy. 4 bags of 105 pieces each.
I probably would have given it all out... but there was a crazy Pennywise clown with a chainsaw scaring all the kids away.

I saw a slight decline on my block from previous years. If it wasn't for the vans pulling up and unloading kids from God knows where, or the 30+ year old women collecting candy (not in costume) I'd have a TON of candy left over!

We had about 475 kids come through. It was great, lots of great costumes. It died down around 7:30, probably because it wasn 't as warm as it's been in past years.

I NEVER get trick or treaters. They just don't bother to walk up the tiny street. Every year I buy one bag of candy and have plenty left over. This year I bought 3. WEnt thru all 3, and then my cabinets when I ran out. Unheard of.
