Default Wawa and Whole Foods to go into NE Auto Outlet

This is what I heard. Not sure when it will happen. I recall there was a topic but not searching on this forum.

I can see Whole Foods which is also rediculous because too much competition with all Supermarkets with in range depending on where you go.

As for Wawa there are too many.

Also Wawa is getting rediculous. They bought a truck load of hi def tvs. What the hell is that all about?

Company cares too much on profit and not enough on employees.

Are you talking about the Northeast Lincoln Mercury Dealer at Tyson and the Blvd or the dealership at Academy & Grant? The NE Auto Outlet (of that name) is on Bluegrass road down the block from the NEW Wawa at Grant & Bluegrass. No need for a Wawa on the same road.

Wawa would probably just love to knock that Hess off the other corner of Grant and Academy, and while they are at it, steal some morning coffee business from Starbucks if they can...
Only thing is, they would have to build a cloverleaf to handle the traffic mess that a Wawa would cause at that intersection!

I catch the bus on that corner and have no doubt a Wawa would be very successful with the amount of traffic going there on a daily basis (mostly heading to I-95). I don't mind Wawa because they keep their businesses well maintained and clean. I could see a Trader Joes doing better business there than Whole Foods, but I welcome the opportunity for a little more class added to the neighborhood....Starbucks has been a great addition.

No Wawa necessary. That intersection is already a nightmare!

I'd love to see a Trader Joe's anywhere in the Far NE or Lower Bucks.
Whole Foods would certainly be a welcome site.
BUT Wawa? There is already a Super Wawa just a few blocks further up Grant Avenue (at Bluegrass).

there is another wawa further down but anywhere else you cant go more than a mile without a wawa and there is usually 2-3 gas stations within a block of eachother, that intersection will crush the hess and hurt starbucks slightly.. hopefully something begins there soon because that property looks awful now and it will only add value to a slightly declining area

I hope it's true about the Whole Foods.
And Trader Joe's could open across the street where they're already operating as an ALDI. That would mirror Marlton and Abington, where both are competing practically right next to each other.

They could fit a Trader Joes in the abandoned Stauss Auto building across the street. That is an eyesore with the boards on the window. I would also like to see something go in the empty Durkin equipment yard that is on the corner of Grant and Ashton.

are they starting a franchise like the little one's in ny - you know wawa and whole foods mini side by side? sounds like the strangest pairing ever. Although would cover just about everyone.

I only mentioned Trader Joes because they already have a building(Aldi) directly across the street. I don't think they're interested in buying another. Maybe, who knows.

Default Business Suggestions for NE Auto site...

I think a mixture of stores such as Bottom Dollar, Food Basics, Big Lots, Dollar Tree, a thriftstore (Goodwill or Impact), a Dunkin Donuts, or WAWA or McDonalds would do amazing business at the old NE Auto site.

Isn't there a Big Lots at Franklin Mills?

Doesn't matter. There are thousands of people within walking distance of that location.

Grant & Academy is a major traffic zone so the right businesses (McDonald's, CVS, Walgreens, Wawa, etc) would likely enjoy tremendous success.

they should put a wawa (gas station or not) and some sort of supermarket like a trader joes or whole foods that may appeal to the area but not kill off too many stores. the area needs a pick me up and the last thing you want is a business thats going to attract the wrong kind of late night crowd hanging out and continue a downward spiral for the neighborhood

I agree...enough WAWA's already...there are two nice-sized WAWA's a mile down the road at Grant and Blue Grass and also one up the road in Parkwood on Academy and Byberry...
