then move, these shows raise money and they also get and get the permits to do the shows.
They started doing these shows again in 2003 and have kept the stage clean not all messed up with graffiti, plus it gives familes a chance to spend time together so many people bring there kids.
And in closing i wish you would just shut up!!!

I was there on Saturday for the last 2 bands. I saw no problems in the park, and did notice a good police presence. It was cool to see so many families with their kids like tom8010 said. Seemed like a well behaved jovial crowd. That being said, I also think that stingray66 has a right to speak his opinion without being told to 'shut up!!!'.

yes it was a great time i was there from 11:30 am till the end cause i've been trying for 9 years to get the band i work for on that stage and they finally got a chance to play and rocked the place, and i get a little pissed when people bash the concerts i know the announcer who is a cop and know all these people don't get paid they volunteer there time and do alot for the community and as stated in another post everywhere you have something going on the park, phillies games, etc you have a few bad apples that's just the world we live in.

All the neighbors and you should go to the Civic meetings ans try to resolve some of the issues. That bandstand has been in the park for a long time. Its nice to see it being used. Possibly they can make announcements at the venue asking people to use the parking lots or use welsh road for parking? Have townwatch set up on the perimeter of the park to monitor people dumping trash?

It isnt about the area its about who is sponsoring the concert. I am sure the Mayfair Civic and touwnwatch would be interested in hearing from the neighbors to try and rectify this. But lets find out who sponsors the concert and go from there.

It sounds like the feeling is mutual. As a long time neighbor there, does Stingray66 not have a right to voice his opinion? It sounds like there are some valid concerns.

well we all know opinions are like a$$h@&*s and everyone has one, and to mayfair101 they have alot of sponsors from mayfair, holmesburg, etc you see some banners at the shows of those who support them and if i'm not mistaken they started back up in 2003 and someone is gonna bring this up now and like i said before there are some bad apples no matter where you go and what you do in this day n age and i would say 98% of the people are good and there is even a business owner that volunteers time to help out at the shows.

The concerts will resume next week (June 13th) with a show titled "Hair Band Jam" featuring the kids from School of Rock doing their Motley Crue tribute, and November Rain doing their Guns n Roses tribute.

    See ya then!

We came upon the June 2nd concert by accident and I think we'll come by for that Beatles/U2 show. Love it!

I normally can't go to any of these concerts, it's generally in the middle of my workweek, and I live in South Philly.....but, I work this weekend, and my BF and I were planning to ride our bikes in Pennypack park tomorrow....he took the day off Wednesday, yay! So, perhaps we can stay for the show? I imagine it's ok to have people with bikes there, right, it's an open air stage?
I really hope we can stay, and we will be sure to bring loot for donations!

    AWESOME - Thank You!

Yes, there is a bike path that runs right in front of the stage and several people ride their bikes there. Why don't you bring your bikes up in your car (or whatever), park your vehicle in the parking lot on Rhawn street, ride the bike path, and then as the day winds down head on over to the stage. You might want to bring some chairs or a blanket. You're more than welcomed to bring a picnic basket, however there is also food and water for sale during the show. Be prepared though as tomorrow it's supposed to be pretty hot.

    See ya there!
