Is there any other Northeasters participating in the Broad Street Run besides myself?
From past races, I would say most of the runners are yuppies, suburbians, and out of towners.

Yep, I am.

got done in 1:30. i would have finished a few minutes sooner if i wasn't dodging walkers from the start. like seriously, these people knew they were doing this since february...
I thought the race was about as well organized as to be expected, but the start and finish were both kind of a mess because of the sheer amount of people.

Way too many people this year. I couldn't even run across the finish line, and it wasn't due to cramps this time either.
Good to know I wasn't the only Awesome person running this year.
It seemed like a lot of people didn't understand that the chip in your bib starts recording your time when you cross the start line, not when the gun for your corral goes off. When our corral got the go-ahead to start, people were pushing and weaving through the crowd. That kind of stuff happens in big races, but it was multiplied by the sheer number of people.
The end of the race got sloppy at the entrance to the Navy Yard, where the running space got a lot more narrow. When we had a half mile to go, one guy did his best Braveheart yell and tried to take off into a sprint while weaving through people. He almost took out a couple of people, including me.
I couldn't hear Nutter clearly at the beginning, but did he say next year's race is going to be even bigger?

M.A.R.C. has 50-80 runners every year. They use it to raise funds for a different cancer cause each year. Almost all of the runners are from the Northeast.

a quick google solved the problem.
Photos are up online. At the finish line I look superpissed at all the people in front of me practically just standing around like a bunch of lost puppies after finishing the race.
of course they would have the one with me blowing snot out the nose![]()
