Default What's UP with Cottman Beverage?

The place has been closed for a while now - it used to be a staple of the neighborhood for decades before dirtbags took it over and now closed it.
According to BRT the place has over $12,000 in back taxes now, a lean, and to be perfectly honest, it's a neglected building belonging to yet another "LLC" crook.
    "7544 FRANKFORD AVENUE LLC "

    Yeah, ok.

Maybe someone at the Mayfair Civic can answer some questions and start a push to keep another building from adding to city blight.

I was just saying the same thing last week before Easter.

The Mayfair beer distributor has crazy odd hours. They close early all the time.

I finally found the one on Torresdale near Rhawn. They're open later and every day.

Only because they have the lottery, just be sure to have your numbers on a lottery card or written down because they have a hard time with the english language. Nicolettis has been a local business and family for decades, why not give them your business?

Yeah, I've hit up Nicoletti's for brew on occasion.
And Roger Wilco is always a short trot away.
But Cottman Bev. being on the ave was so convenient, particularly if I was in a hurry or feeling lazy.
It was a long-time established Mayfair business.
I knew something stunk there when the 7-11 type employees were running it.
    Now look at the place.

I always make an effort to support a locally owned business. Where is Nicoletti's? Hours?
Do they have a drive through?

Had to revive this thread for a sec.....

I'm having some last minute company over and figured I need a case of beer instead of a couple of sixes.
It's 6:30 and figured Mayfair beverage was closed (like before), and decided to run down to Tacony Beverage on Torresdale near Rhawn.
I was there once before.. but this time- it was daylight. I parked on their side street while my BF went in for a case.
OMG!! Has anyone ever reallly looked at the exterior of this building? It looks like it's about to fall down.
The entire side roof covering this small shack area of the store is rotted, exposed wood with huge gaps at the connecting wall. It looks like its ready to collapse with a strong wind. The side ground is covered with empty cases of beer and 40's.
I couldn't believe the condition of this corner business property.
Needless to say, I've googled Nicoletti's Beverage and will make all attempts to patronize their business.

Diagonal from this dump of a beer distributor is Al's Corner Deli, a favorite of mine. They keep their property very nice.

I know Councilman Henon is going after bad landlords, but how about going after bad business owners too? They can have just as bad an impact on a neighborhood as bad renters, IMO- and encourage the blight.

Drove by and saw the drive in door open with a work truck in the driveway. Looked like a lot of scaffolding inside, along with some workers on the roof. Anybody hear anything?
