    Default Tire Slashing Rampage, AGAIN!

Dozens of tires slashed in Mayfair in less than a week--this time on the same block of Aldine and one block over on the 4000 block of Teesdale. What did Bachmayer mean when he was on the news stating that they would beef up patrols in the neighborhood? Just more lip service from the 15th.

Face it , there is no patrol in certain areas of the 15th. Most of the cars are in the hood, while other areas are left to fend for themselves.

I get that. However, the glaring issue is the lip service he has consistently been giving us since he became Captain of the 15th.

Time to go over his head and bring in the Inspector for Northeast Division. If that doesn't work, start contacting the Commissioner's office--enough's enough!

What a joke. Bachmayer was just on Action News on Teesdale Street saying he will put more patrols in the area. He said that last week. What happened? After his photo op lip service, he got in his car and went back home to:

    (a) Pine Valley
    (b) Somerton
    (c) Torresdale

Somebody on these two blocks has to have surveillance cameras.

I can't wait till they post these kids once they catch them - and they eventually will.
Hope they changed their undies for the trip to State Road.

Didn't this neighborhood just elect a new City Councilman to replace the retired Councilwoman Joan Krajewski? I would think that his office would get involved and ensure an active police response from the Mayor and Police Commissioner. I am kind of surprised that we did not hear of any press release from the Councilman's office after the last episode of tire slashings. I am certain we will hear from his office this time. That is presuming that a significant amount of complaints have been lodged. It has risen to a level beyond lip service. There should be a significant and noticeable sign of force by the Police Department after this second incident. The Crime Lab should have been out attempting to gather evidence already. Rest assured if the residents of Chestnut Hill or Society Hill, or even the merchants along the South Street business corridor were being plagued by this type crime the response would have been overwhelming. Whoever is doing this should have been caught by now!

The 15th has a much bigger problem:

The district is just WAY too large to deal with the problems it has going on in its western and southernmost ends.

The 15th needs to be subdivided into new districts and new, smaller PSAs.

Bobby is too busy trying to make it 'legal' for senior citizens to be able to put their trash out before 7pm the night before trash day. Clearly, quality of life crimes are not a priority for him.

On KYW yesterday the excuse was made that the added patrol happened to be on a "coffee break" when the vandalism occured.
    Lame-ass fail, right there.

Putting a cop car ther won't help catch them anyway. That's just like Franklin Mills mall security driving around in a car with "flashing lights" looking for people breaking into cars...duh, shall we steal this car now or wait til the security car is gone?...

Tires Slashed in Mayfair Yet Again
By Byron Scott | 3 hours ago

News Videos and Video Clips | NBC 10 Philadelphia

Did this happen again last night? Or is this just a clip from yesterday? I'm confused (and old..)

I think that it is time to bring back discussion of removing Mayfair from the boundaries of Philadelphia. Crime sprees in neighborhoods like this only bring down an otherwise great city.

All of the districts should get more of the police out of cars and paired up on bicycles.
It is less conspicuous, more community oriented and far more easier to get to places where patrol cars can not (like driveways, parks, playgrounds, etc).

Seriously, only about 25% of the police force is in good enough physical shape to ride around on bikes.

Well that's a whole other issue by itself that needs to be rectified.
In the mean time, I'd start with volunteers and newly graduated recruits, who should already be in decent shape since they're just out of the academy.

The fact is I see multiple bike patrols in the 9th district every day.
So, if the bike patrols are good enough for center city they should be good enough for all the districts.

I was actually down that exact street last night at 8:30 and no cops were there. The only sign of an issue was the news van on the corner with the boom up and the lights out front for the live broadcast.. No one was out patrolling either..
