Default Underage drinking parties in Mayfair

50 some-odd kids were stuffed into the rear of 3554 Shelmire Avenue, just a block away from Joan Krajewski's house having a kegger party.

The party occurred between 6-10PM Friday Jan 13th. PPD was called multiple times but they did not turn up. Since Mayfair seems to be the place to be for underage keggers, I thought I would pass this information along.

    The property owner's information:

    Yup, it's an absentee landlord-special.

The taxes on the house are paid up.

Here's how the deeds and mortgages are recorded on the property. These are the last two transfer recordings:

The kids around here throw keg/parties sometimes.
    It's a Mayfair Thing.

Luckily, the one behind my home keeps the noise levels down and puts a lid on things before midnight usually.

We all were once brazen kids, and Mayfair's known that.

Is it really necessary to post the personal information of the landlord? I'm sure he didn't throw the friggin' basheroo. If I got arrested for every kegger I went to in Mayfair in my teens, I'd still be in jail and I'm in my 40's.

That's true! I went to keg parties and ran from the cops more than once in my youth.
Neighbors would call the cops. And they would show up!
Today, that type of quality of life crime isn't considered a priority to the police. Sometimes it seems we are in competition with other neighborhoods for police attention.

Was this Mayfair kegger actually held inside the rental home?

Back in 1973, I hung out with a bunch of guys that hung at Leon & Lansing - we'd hang there, admire each others cars, and smoke POT.
    That's right, POT.
And we got beer sometimes to wash down the pretzels.

Once, he planned out a fun thing to do...

We knew this one cop would always cruise on down Leon, checking us all out...
So we got a bag of sand and got in a big huddle when he came by..
As soon as he got 1/2 a block away, we dropped the bag of sand in the street and we scattered in all directions.

The cop got out of his cruiser and check out the bag of sand, and we laughed our asses off from our (previously planned)
    hiding places.

It's something to DO, ya know.... kid stuff.

Kids will be kids and this has been happening for hundreds of years..the only difference is when we were kids there was no internet and creeps to rat us out online. And the info on the website doesn't verify that it's a rental property, unless I am missing something.

I thought the landlords address had to be the one listed, not the house address. Is that correct?

Yes but the City Records Department is probably one of the more brain-less departments the City has. You can put whatever you want as the mailing address of the BRT account and on the deed cover, and absentees have a bad habit of putting the rental property's address as the mailing address and not forcing landlords to register their primary domicile or principal physical place of business, instead.

This owner holds other properties that I can see in BRT records. Trust me it's a rental. Almost all the NYC Asian specials in the Lower NE look like this on their BRT account.

FYI my own landlord did this on the Levick Street property. The true place to find the landlord is almost always to pull the water account at the Water Revenue Board to find where the bills are going to.

Oh hell, it's a warm night...someone bring over a keg and I'll get the boombox out of the garage - we'll toss down a few, and then some more!
