911 rep will answer questions at the NE QOL Coalition Meeting

The NE QOL Coalition November meeting is scheduled for Thursday 11/17 at 7:30pm at the Sons of Italy Lodge, Friendship & Hegerman Sts. Our guest speakers will be a rep from 911 who will give a presentation on what to call in to the system, how to call in to the system, how calls are prioritized and dispatched to the officers on the street. And Anna Stacey who will discuss how criminals are prosecuted and what constitutes a felony and a misdomeanor.

Have you ever called 911 and waited hours for someone to show up? Did you think it was the officers fault? Did you know it somtimes takes hours for the officers on the street to even get the call dispatched to them? Do you want to know Why? This is your chance to ask Why. Please don't pass up this chance. Come out to this meeting and bring your friends!

Dang, won't be able to make it. My problem with 911 isn't the operators, but PPD classifying my report as unfounded. WTF? Are you saying it didn't happen? "No, mam, just that it's unfounded". What are you going to do about it? "Nothing, it's unfounded."

In a way, I kinda feel bad for 911 operators. They don't have the cops to respond to the calls, and as a result, they take the flack for it.

It is my understanding that these 911 operators are civilians. These calls are then forwarded to Police Dispatch for response.
