Any body know what was next to this? Looking at old aerial photos it looks like a trailer park on what is now the interplex and radisson.

I'm really doing my best to remember, but when I grew up in the 70's/80's, I vaguely remember some kind of run down rinky dink cottages for rent as motel rooms back there. I don't think it was a trailer park....I think it was teeny cottages. I don't know if maybe back in the 50's people used them as something else, but I think they might have been like a little motor inn of cottages as far back as I can remember.
Oh, also your link doesn't take you to that intersection....it takes you to Harbison and the Blvd. I had to move it around to get to the right place.
I always preferred the Andalusia.

yup Cabins was right as I remember too.. I also remember the Lincoln showing X rated movies. Imagine driving by on the blvd and looking over and seeing porn.. As a kid my head almost exploded.
thanks for the info. sorry about the link first try wasnt sure if i did it right.
Nice find! Another one of those things I probably passed many times but never noticed. I was just a kid then, but I know we went by that area a lot because my parents liked to go shopping at (I think it was called) Kelly's Corner at the Blvd and the on ramp to Street Rd. It's there in the shots from the '50s to the '70s if you want to check it out.
Anyway, back to the Cabins, looking at the shot from '71 it looks like all that was left was the empty plots. Wonder if there are any photos out there, I'll do some searching later.
About the xxx drive-ins, my parents would make us look away when we drove past, but we always managed to sneak a peek...Worse than that was the one across from the Pennsauken Mart, it was in full view of the parking lot!
Phillybri583, thanks for sharing this! By the way, when I clicked on your link it took me to the homes of Northeast Village at the Blvd and Haldeman. I posted a question about that place a few weeks back. Just wondering if you used that link in your post? Don't know if you noticed, but towards the upper right of the maps there is a "share" button that will give you the link to the map you are currently viewing. This is a great site that allows us to look at what was, and how our neighborhoods changed over the years.
No, this was around the back of that. Check out the link, see if you remember. It's the building in the lower right. Also, click on 1967, you can see (just to the north) Street Rd under construction...

hmm. No I do not recall it..
I book marked your link after i read your post a few weeks ago great site. Before that i was using Greater Philadelphia GeoHistory Network . I found those cabins looking for an aerial of an old alignment of the Lincoln highway. I'm not originally from the northeast and never thought there was much historical value but I've just become fascinated at how much its changed over the years. I'm particularly interested in the period from the 50's till now. I learned I live on the original alignment of the Lincoln highway and the northeast is full of history. I would like to find more about the builders who built these homes and would like to see pictures of them going up and info about there sales.

I seem to remember back in the late 80's, that the area right before the PA Turnpike with the cabins, was the George Washington Lodge. I always remember passing that place whenever I went for a ride with my uncle up to Macro (remember that place?).
A friend of mine told me she went to the George Washington Lodge after her prom at Lincoln High School (circa 1988), and she said the place had little cottages, and the place was a dump. I can't remember when the place was finally knocked down, mid 90's perhaps?
