Are you thinking about men's clothing, women's clothing, children's clothing, furniture or antiques?

You might want to check out "Past and Present" at 7224 Germantown Avenue; it has a decent selection of some groovy clothing for both men and women, or at least I recall it did when I was out shopping for a Halloween costume last year. There was another cool boutique cum consignment shop in the back that I also checked out called "What a Girl Wants and a Guy Needs" at 7125 Germantown Ave, but it was more upscale and definitely focused more on women's designer clothing (and since I wasn't going in drag, it didn't hold much interest for me.)

My personal favorite is the Buffalo Exchange in Center City, at 1713 Chestnut; it's part of a national chain.

Sorry, I have no North Philly consignment wisdom, but can second the Buffalo Exchange recommendation. Their prices are pretty reasonable for good quality clothes, but for that reason, selling there won't make you a mint. They tend toward current vs. vintage fashions. If you're open to other neighborhoods, yelp.com has a decent consignment list.

"What a Girl Wants..." closed some months back, and Dirty Girl Brigade has recently opened in that space.

What a Girl Wants closed last year. Looks like another clothing store has moved into that space in the past couple of weeks, though--don't know if it's new or consignment, or anything else about it yet.

Just found "A Diamond In The Rough" I found a consignment/thrift store in North Philadelphia. Its located on Ridge ave between 29th and 30th. They had alot of brand names (Gymboree, A&E, Polo).

    Are there any near Fairmont?

Not the "area" but you can grab a 23 bus to Chestnut Hill and check out Monkey Business...pickings are pretty scarce these days, but in the past I've found some primo stuff that was like new, Jos. A Bank, Brooks Bros, Orvis, stuff like that. Most shirts are $6-12. Good place to find work clothes but they have very limited hours.

I took a trip over there. I got some nice pieces. The prices were really cheap compared to what i was used to spending.

    I will be returning

    Thanks
