    This is just horrible.

So in the past few weeks, there has been a shooting at a playground at 12th and Susquehanna, 17th and Cecil B. Moore, 19th and Oxford, a Temple student robbed in the middle of the day at Broad and Diamond and now this. I can't wait for the next Philly.com article blaming Temple students for ruining the "fabric" of the neighborhood.

Subhuman. If Ramsey and Nutter had a brain in their heads they would give their officers the nod and allow them to go on a tet offensive. Start slaughtering people. Left and right. Standing on a corner day in and day out? Bye bye. Dont want to snitch? Here's a little water boarding. But no. We'll just keep making pretend we can fix the problem with volunteers, songs, and some finger paint.

I really do hope you're never in need of safety services offered by public servants. Or that you're shown the same compassion and sympathy that you're so clearly capable of. I really do.

If only he was carrying his weapon, this would have turned out differently . . . oh wait, he was carrying his weapon.

I am disillusioned. I thought carrying a gun around the city provided magical protection from all crimes.

You're right, let's disarm the police too. Because no chance is always better than some chance.
If you believe people should work till they die to pay for a government worker to retire at 50, you're a Democrat. Otherwise, you're a Republican. All other differences between the parties are trivial.

    Gee...hyperbole much?

No one has even hinted that police should be disarmed. It's just that no one should feel a fuzzy, warm blanket of *safe* merely because they happen to have a gun even strapped to their hip. Surprise situations happen, and if someone trained to react to surprised situations isn't ahead of the attack because of ohh...Spidey Sense or some such, the average humanoid doesn't stand too much of a chance either.

Now, if he had managed to draw just a little bit faster and blow one or both away, we would probably have a situation where there would be multiple "witnesses" and someone would be proclaiming a good boy was cut down by the dastardly po-lice.

Get it right, then: He made an idiotic comment.; the hyperbole here is his statement that "carrying a gun around the city provided magical protection from all crimes." No one ever said it does; just that it gives a would-be victim some chance against an attacker (statistically, a very good one) versus practically none.

I'm shocked, or at least disgusted, to see that philly.com prepended an ad for Dos Equs on the surveillance video they posted. I've embedded the original posted by the PPD to youtube, without the ad, below.
