Can any natives explain why people are so abusive when dealing with the Chinese store workers? I see people scream their order, beat at the glass, no smile, no manners.
What is wrong with North Philadelphians and treating these people like dirt?

Recall the saying about those who do not study history.
Ingorance breeds loathing and bigotry. The established class looks down at the immigrant class, ask any first generation immigrant or their children.
The shouting comes from the belief that volume results in effective communication, as opposed to annunciation. Which is why people shout in restaraunts, and into cellular telephones.
Lots of misconceptions about Asians in the Black community

Hmmmn...troll or not, it does happen in some communities. I personally think that there a number of factors why a certain class of people are openly hostile to people in fast food Chinese restaurants. Some people are hostile, because they resent the fact that immigrants were able to come to America and open up a store, while they had to jump through rings of fire, just to be denied a loan. I don't know the particulars of what immigrants have to do to come to America, but I do know that the people complaining are resentful and feel like they aren't presented with the same opportunities as some immigrants. Which is just stupid, since they're Americans and they have plenty of opportunities to advance. Sometimes it's just easier to blame someone else for your woes, instead of realizing that mistakes you made in your past, are the reasons why your life is going exactly as planned. So when it comes to those Chinese take-out, I think that the hostility isn't always justified, but I remember when I moved close to Diamond St and the people in the Chinese stores were very hostile towards me. But I'm sure that some of the folks around 22nd and Diamond, weren't the friendliest either.
Now those Stop n Go establishments are a totally different matter. When I was younger, a number of bars were closed down and Stop n Go's were put in their place. They're nothing more than places for drunks to buy malt liquor, crackheads to buy pipes and stoneheads to buy blunts.
Anytime shop keepers are a minority, the masses think they can treat them like sh*t since the stores are perceived to be taking their money from the community. It has happened since the dawn of time.
Why do rich white people berate Hispanic laborers in their yards and laundry rooms? I see old white women and men hol..
Oh wait..
Why do the British berate Indian food pr..
Og wait..
I'm not seeing all these supposed bikes in all these million dollar bike lanes.
Yeah I think even the "taking money out of the community" is giving most bigots too much credit in the Chinese store scenario. I've noticed it like everyone else, and it's mostly just dumb Americans trying to make themselves feel superior or like they have power over the chinese store owners. They are different and generally don't speak english so well, so idiots assume they are stupid and can be treated like dirt. It's pretty infuriating to watch, and probably borderline unendurable to be on the receiving end of.
I think it's quite stupid to mess with someone that is preparing a meal for you. That doesnt make any sense to me.
"annunciation," believe that has something to do with Catholics rather than Chinese fast food. But, it is good to know that annunciation is why I shout into the cell phone, here all this time I thought it was because I was a deaf, old fart. If I stop shouting into the cell phone will I get any plenary indulgences?

easy target.
Because they have a vicious consuming hatred for anyone or anything outside their ghetto paradise of squalor, drugs, crime, and death. And they think people who work for a living are suckers.
because they see a person they can treat like crap and get away with it. It's not just north philly, it's any poor neighborhood in any city where the operator of said shop is of a different background than the people who frequent it.
In hispanic and black communities, deference and respect is shown to their own who run businesses while anybody of a different ethnicity is treated like scum.
Speaking to the operator of a take chinese joint back in bushwick brooklyn, she said "they say what they want to me. I make good money on them and we make sh*t food for them. What you want?"
It's a fact of life being an immigrant here. Or anywhere.
