Default OMG Why Didnt I Ask Youz People

I went to Seaside Heights 2 weeks ago cause i thought it was a shorter trip across the thin part of the state.

OMG I honestly did not know it was the Snooki and Sitch shore!

I had a sufficiently good time (loved that water park) but OMG

    The boardwalk was as follows

Arcade, Slut Wear, Headshop, Pizza/Clams/Cheesesteak Restaurant, Arcade, Slut Wear, Headshop, Pizza/Clams/Cheesesteak Restaurant, Arcade, Slut Wear, Headshop, Pizza/Clams/Cheesesteak Restaurant, Arcade, Slut Wear, Headshop, Pizza/Clams/Cheesesteak Restaurant, Arcade, Slut Wear, Headshop, Pizza/Clams/Cheesesteak Restaurant, Arcade, Slut Wear, Headshop, Pizza/Clams/Cheesesteak Restaurant...

Is this the way all Boardwalks are nowadays?

Where are the kitchy souvenir shops etc?

    Which shore town is best?

. The community is also known as the location of the hit MTV show Jersey Shore, with the director of the borough's business improvement district saying in 2010 that "we can't even calculate the economic benefit" to Seaside Heights from the continued presence of the shot

Having grown up going to Seaside Heights almost every night in the summer, I can tell you that the freak show you see there has been there since *long* before Snooki came on the scene.

Jersey Shore just took what was already in SH and popularized it.

I like Brigantine. Low key, family oriented, short drive. If I'm going for more than a day I like to go all the way down to Cape Henlopen near Lewes and camp. Not a huge fan of boardwalks and kind of prefer to spend my time at the beach, well at the beach.

We just got back to Philly from the Wildwood Boardwalk. If you are sixty-five or over, you can get into the water parks for free! Plus, the incredibly wide beach is beachtag-free. In the evening, the rides light up and are amazing, particularly the ferris wheel, reputedly the tallest on the Eastern Seaboard, with its (fittingly) retro psychedelics. Too bad that rides average $5 and above apiece for adults. Also on the downside, the variety of merchandise available in the overwhelming majority of shops is depressingly repetitive, particularly among the wiseass-T-shirt concessions (They currently glorify haters; e.g., "I LOVE HATERS" and "HATERS LOVE ME."), which seem to rhythmically repeat at several-store intervals. Are such clusters of cookie-cutter stores owned and controlled by some agglomerate? Frankly, we're not sure. But we thought of this: what with the economy (theoretically) reviving and all, would this not be the ripe season for this and/or that entrepreneur to help reinject a bit of creativity into it? Would a little less monotony hurt anybody?

Errr call CNN...no, wait, they'll pretend the Olympics are happening...

Been this way for 20+ years that I know of.

It's amazing how many people think the Jersey Shore began with the Jersey Shore.
If you believe people should work till they die to pay for a government worker to retire at 50, you're a Democrat. Otherwise, you're a Republican. All other differences between the parties are trivial.

Yeah, they need to be taught about places like Bay Head, Spring Lake, and Rumson, to name a few.

Lol, wasn't Rumson the douchebag capital of the world? Replace "wasn't" with "isn't it still" if appropriate.

Pretty sure Belmar still holds that title.

Rumson is one of the most affluent places in the country. Commutable to NY and beautiful waterfront properties on the Shrewsbury River. Lots of old money. Belmar has its share of meatheads, but no more than any number of other party towns up and down the northeast coastline. Seaside Heights is in a class by itself.

I havent been down the shore in DECADES, I chose Seaside Heights cause it seemed closer and it had that skychair ride.
Therefore I dont know what it was like before Snooki or after

The only place I like going is Stone Harbor and Avalon. Quiet, I get my dose of mini-golf and tourists looking at me as if I have 5 heads, and then I go home.

I like Wildwood but the boardwalk is less interesting to me now that I'm 24.

I LOVE Cape May. I could wander there for hours just looking at architecture.

The duchess is from LBI, and used to call it that all the time. Oh, and Childwood was another one.

Ocean City, NJ has a great boardwalk. If you're going just for the day, you kind of need a boardwalk to break up the day and for bathrooms and food/drink. If I was going for more than a day, I would not go to Ocean City because of the 19th century liquor laws. No, I am not a drunk, but I'm certainly not a teetotaler square.
