RCP has Obama 5 electoral votes shy of winning, without the toss-ups.

There's 9 toss-up states. Romney may barely win NH. He will almost certainly lose NV and IA and CO given how Denver keeps growing and out-voting the super-far-right folks clustered around Boulder and Colorado Springs and the rural vote.

Romey has to win both OH and FL to have any shot. ANY possible shot. And OH polls aren't lookin' too good:

    1) 2012 Pennsylvania President: Romney vs. Obama

    Asked of 600 likely voters

    Barack Obama
    50%

    Mitt Romney
    39%

    Undecided
    11%

Republican State House leader – Mike Turzai – bragged that his Voter Suppression ID Law would "allow Governor Romney to win the state." But it looks like the courts may throw a wrench in Turzai's plans. But make no mistake about it – Republicans will continue to kick as many Democratic voters off the rolls as they can before November. In fact, Florida Governor Rick Scott has restarted his illegal voter purge – targeting those who don't have white Anglo-Saxon names. All of this should wake us up to the fact that all Americans of all races - including elderly and college-student age whites - need a federal right to vote.

This is the map that I created to show how Romney could possibly win.

He has to pour every dollar he's got into OH and FL, VA and NC and also grab NH and also push Obama down in the polls in SC.

Basically, Romney has to run the rest of his campaign solely in the Eastern US.

And that will put him precisely at 270. Barring some major Obamascandal that breaks and unfolds very quickly or some 47%-style PR gaffe, which is a really rare event to see happen this late in an election. You just don't see states suddenly turn with the polls opening up like this towards the end. This is the last month until the fateful Tuesday where we all go to vote. Everyone's pretty much decided by now how they're voting.

The Watergate burglary was reported in the WaPo before Nixon was re-elected but Nixon won by one of the biggest landslides in history only bested by Reagan; it wasn't until after the burglary was directly connected to Nixon did it sink in.. the buglaries happened in spring and summer of '72 during the campaign. It didn't get all the way to impeachment until 1974 and it didn't start becoming obvious until mid-1973 that the President was probably deeply involved in it and so was his personal lawyer).

The race is a lot closer than you think. There is virtually no enthusiasm from the college kids that can't find jobs and the whites that got him elected. He was a fad like the pet rock. Don't believe the b**l**** that the mainstream media spews out of their ass about the polls. They think that this news is going to depress the conservative vote but it is only going to energize them more. It would have the opposite effect on the other side . Obama didn't win with a landslide in 08. His popular vote was less than 10% higher than McCain and he managed to get higher on the electoral college vote. I would surmise that 10-20% of the 08 Obama supporters are sitting this mother f*ker out because they are worse off than they were before the Messiah took office. Guess we'll see 11/6

...um, "super-far-right folks clustered around Boulder"?

I think you need to revise your Colorado political geography.

Boulder is home to the University of Colorado and part of the Denver-Boulder metropolitan agglomeration. It's pretty crunchy-granola territory and its electorate probably to the left of Denver's.

(Roadgeek trivia: The freeway connecting Denver with Boulder, US 36, opened as the Denver-Boulder Turnpike. The tolls have since been removed.)

Look at the sampling of the polls you linked too and then please explain to some of the Romney supporters why the Oh polls aren't looking too good.

If they were what they say, do you think BamBam would be campaigning and spending lots of $$$ in Ohio?
If Mittens internals were as bad as these polls would he be spending time and money in Ohio or would he write it off and put more resources in a win-able state?

It does fascinate me, this new dialogue that the polls are somehow being deliberately skewed to favor Obama. Why would any pollster ever do that? Is everything that goes against the beliefs of the right, no matter how clear the evidence or facts some sort of massive conspiracy. It is an odd paranoia.

The fact that adds have almost totally disappeared from our tvs should tell you what Romney thinks of PA. In order to win Romney MUST WIN Ohio. I would hate to be in that market right now.

"No one wanted to be mayor of Philadelphia. It was a thankless job, which for the first 56 years offered an annual salary of zero. In 1745, two men turned down the position and instead accepted large fines. In 1747, Anthony Morris fled to Bucks County to hide and thus avoid notification of his election. After Morris’s disappearance, a new election was held, and William Atwood was re-elected."

Pissed off many voters living in PA since the new law enacted by Corbett that we all needed Photo ID to Vote. Was to stop Obama voters in Philadelphia.
The pollsters were reading the public sentiment.
    Pennsylvania has a NAZI Governor.
Cuts $160 million in Public Assistance with a massive $26.65 Billion budget.
BUT, Corbett gave all the BIG BUSINESSES BIG tax breaks and killed the POOR PEOPLE.
I hate to say it Corbett is a Republican.
If you vote for a REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT.

Here is some evidence of some nefarious Voter Fraud going on.

Businessman who GOP cut ties with at center of voter fraud probe in Florida - The Washington Post

The man at the center of a voter-fraud investigation in Florida is a longtime GOP operative with a pugnacious streak and a controversial history among Republicans and Democrats for his aggressive tactics in registering voters.

Nathan Sproul is a businessman who rose rapidly in Arizona politics, heading the local Christian Coalition and the state Republican Party in his mid-20s. A series of voter-fraud allegations against him in 2004 did not slow his ascent: Sproul and firms linked to him have been paid $21.2 million by the Republican Party, its candidates and affiliated interest groups over the past nine years.

But the man who once accused his Democratic critics of having “hysterical fits” now finds himself isolated politically. Nine Florida counties reported to the state that hundreds of voter-registration forms submitted by Sproul’s firm contained irregularities such as suspicious signatures and missing information. State law enforcement authorities are investigating the allegations. A spokesman for Sproul denied any improprieties, saying Sproul’s firm “has never tolerated even minimal violations of election law when registering voters.’’

I wonder if Haley Barbour is also deliberately skewing his poll results in favor of Obama:

Barbour’s firm Resurgent Republic conducted focus groups of blue collar voters in Ohio and suburban women in Virginia who supported Obama in 2008 but are now undecided...

Their findings? Voters are a lot more willing to believe attacks based around Romney quotes than they are on Obama quotes.

“Whenever we showed direct quotes from President Obama over the last few years, voters consistently say that this is probably taken out of context and they don’t seem to hold that same standard with Governor Romney,”
