Default It's offical. Paul Ryan is Romneys VP Pick

Personally I would have loved to see Chris Christie but he did not seem interested.

Christie didn't add to Mitt's electability (sic) nationwide. Christie is an inherently better choice than Ryan, but Ryan probably does more for the ticket.

I believe these 2 guys are what we need to turn the country around. Ryan has some good plans to lead us out of the mess we are in.

    Only communists have plans.

Any "conservatives" defending this clown don't have a leg to stand on.

Ignore what this guys says and watch what he does: voted for medicare part d, cosponsored and voted for police/firefighter monopoly bargaining forced unionism bill, voted for TARP, voted for auto bailout, voted for 90% tax on bonuses, 'Patriot' Act, etc, etc ...
actually knows enough about government and policy to write a budget that stretches 75 years into the future.

Romney really dropped the ball on this one. He should have picked Marco Rubio. But Chris Christie???? Puh-lease! The guy is a train wreck.

Well it is interesting picking the author of the Ryan budget as veep. No longer can you just say "I thought that budget had some good ideas". Now you completely own it. And you completely own Ryan's long-standing push for privatizing scial security and turning Medicaid/Medicare into a voucher system.

Picking a governor you have the argument for executive experience while you can still be a little fuzzy on the national issues. Picking a guy who is a leading conservative policy guy on privatizing social security, etc., whose has taken very specific positions on various bills leaves no room for that kind of fuzziness.

Best line I've seen so far.

You know what will end Medicaid as we know it? Medicaid as we know it.

Thats the best line I have heard from anyone ...

"we promise equal opportunity....not equal outcome".
Liberals should learn from that one.

    This was pretty good too:

Paul Ryan represent Obama's most horrifying nightmare: math.

You should hear Fox News spin this choice like a whirling dervish. Romney needed a bold pick. Ryan is not as bad as Pawlenty, but still rather weak.

Well this the other side of picking someone who has taken very specific legislative positions. Even people from clear over on the other end of the spectrum will grumble on specific congressional votes.

More for those who think that ryan is actually a radical: Reports show that under the ryan plan, the gov't will collect 37 trillion in taxes. In the same period under Obama's plan the government will take in 39 trillion in tax revenue.

    Is there really a difference?

This was a terrible plan. Your behind in the fourth quarter you have to go bold in your play calling. So who do you pick a boring white guy. Ryan maybe smart but Americans have an attention span of a squirrel, do you really think they are going to pay attention when he pulls out his charts and graphs?

Vice President candidates don't win elections.
