Apparently Fox won't, either, since they removed the page.

NBC edits Romney rally speech to portray candidate as out of touch | Fox News

Working link. It's your standard question of context.. funny to see it raised by Fox News.

Another funny thing is this doesn't really help Romney. His story about the paperwork was a lie.. the form he talked about is 2 pages, not 33.

Mitt Romney and the curious case of the 33-page change-of-address form - The Plum Line - The Washington Post

How would a media outlet show that Romney is in touch with the voters?

I suspect his super-pac is working on an event where a large group of his supporters strap their dogs on to their cars and drive to Canada from all different parts of the country. Just to show how normal Mitt is.

Or he could show up at a demonstration of millionaires carrying signs saying "Unemployed", "Will work for Bush Tax Cuts", or "I'm the 1% and I vote."
Goodnight Rossana Arquette whereever you are.

Seems NBC is out of touch with true journalism.

I would drive one of my wife's several Cadilacs to such an event.

I heard about this on Smerconish last night. Yeah, MSNBC chopped up the speech to make it look much different than it actually was.

Oh noes! Imagine a news outlet selectively editing tape? What won't that liberal media think of next?

Like here, where that FoxNews accidentally left out a little bit of tape....

Once in context, Romney makes a good point about computers and efficiency.

He should also have someone do some research before giving his 2 cents.

There is an online form, and it is just about as fast as ordering a hoagie. I just went through the steps and it took about 3 minutes.

To Smerconish's credit, he called out both sides of media and gave an example of a right side news story that did misreporting. What he said is right. We know certain news agencies lean in a different direction, push certain stories and editorialize a certain way, but when they start actively editing video and audio to crete a different story, it is unethical.

Should the super-pac boil up some dog and serve it to thier donors to show how normal Barry is?

    That's b/ Barry is for the 99%?
If he is, why do the 1% fund his campaign?

Whether right-leaning or left-leaning, that kind of biased reporting is wrong and a huge disservice to democracy. It now seems wise to ignore MSNBC in addition to Fox News.

    Huzzah!

    However...

It would be nice if liberals stopped suggesting that Fox is (are?) the only crooked outlet doing this. Ethics in television journalism have flatlined. (Except for PBS)

and it would be nice if conservatives stopped suggesting that the "liberal news media sites" are the only crooked outlets doing this.

For the record: i don't think "conservatives" as a whole do this any more than "liberals" as a whole do. just pointing out that generalizations work both ways

    Tox,

To a certain point I agree with you. But I certainly know more GOPers who admit Fox is a PR machine than I do Dems who will finally admit that just about every other news outlet is Team Left Wing.

Romney is out of touch since he can't quite grasp that there's already these things called websites that do exactly what he is talking about.

To get back on subject, MSNBC has tainted the good name of NBC as a legitimate news organization. NBC journalists are all over this rancid channel. Their credibility is not lacking, it is gone.

That 5 hour block of left wing PR that runs nightly is nothing more than Daily Kos on camera. At least Keith Olbermann was funny.

    Tim Russert is dearly missed.

News stations are like MTV; just because there's music in the name? It doesn't mean they have anything to do with it anymore.

MSNBC, FOXNEWS, etc. are now news entertainment. They provide alike minds to feel validated and arguing minds to yell at some illusionary box. There is no news on these channels.
