So I guess it is over.

Obama announces end of Iraq war, troops to return home by year end - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

President Obama announced Friday that the United States will withdraw nearly all troops from Iraq by the end of the year, effectively bringing the long and polarizing war in Iraq to an end.

"After nearly 9 years, America's war in Iraq will be over," said Mr. Obama.

He said the last American troops will depart the country by January 1 "with their heads held high, proud of their success, and knowing that the American people stand united in our support for our troops."

Dayman, have you ever read "A Bridge to Far"? Its about this battle, great telling.

Not sure though if you are saying this is the same outcome. There actually is no chance of it not being, the Iraqis have more or less told us to go, so if we aren't gone well, I guess then we would be a hostile force on their soil.

Do we need any more proof that RPaul is correct as it pertains to our FP.

We spend close to $1T in Iraq
10's of 1000's of our men and women killed or wounded

All for Iran as well as other foreign interests.

Did we even negotiate some type of payback for the blood an treasure we spilled?

With this occurrence .. how can anyone defend war in Iraq, Aftghan, etc, and criticize RPaul's FP ?
