    Default Got to Support This

House Weighs Bill To Make Gun Permits Valid Across State Lines | Fox News

Funny how those whining for "states' autonomy" don't seem to have a problem with states recognizing each other's marriage and driver's licenses.

It's also very telling that the best example Charles Ramsey could come up with in opposition to a national CCW reciprocity is that of a burglar who got capped while being caught in the act.
If you believe people should work till they die to pay for a government worker to retire at 50, you're a Democrat. Otherwise, you're a Republican. All other differences between the parties are trivial.

As long as the agreement also invalidates a CCW nationwide when one is convicted of a crime that would invalidate it.

    Agreed.

That's a given. When one is convicted of a crime, on loses the right to possess a firearm in the first place.

When dealing with the Tea Party, nothing is a given.

Anybody who doesn't like crime. But if you're a criminal, or a sympathizer for them, I suppose you might have an issue with this.

Not sure what the Tea Party boogeyman has to do with this but yes, even though it does little if anything but give people a false sense of security, it is illegal for certain people e.g. felons, mentally-incapacitated, etc. to even possess a firearm, never mind getting a carry permit.

Declaring 'support it or you're a criminal/crime supporter' doesn't help your argument. Guns don't magically prevent crime.

The only problem I see with this is that it could bring a new level to straw purchases across state lines. Other than that, I don't have a problem with it.

Like it or not, the only folks who have anything to fear are the criminals.

How so? And how would this "new level" be any different than straw purchases or other illegal trafficking?
