When you know you will not be fired this is what happens.
"No one wanted to be mayor of Philadelphia. It was a thankless job, which for the first 56 years offered an annual salary of zero. In 1745, two men turned down the position and instead accepted large fines. In 1747, Anthony Morris fled to Bucks County to hide and thus avoid notification of his election. After Morris’s disappearance, a new election was held, and William Atwood was re-elected."
Think I should work there!
Unbelievable.![]()
UAW slob ?
Nice.
Someone doesn't like unions huh ?
How many hundreds of people work in that plant, and they caught how many ?
A few bad apples doesn't mean the whole UAW is a bunch of slobs as you put it.
I wonder how many NON-union employees and white collar people "drink" thier lunch ? Probally the same percentage.
Gotcha journalism is not appealing to me. If indeed what the journalists reported is happening, then clearly it should be stopped; the guys can go to the bar after their shift is over if they want. However, I am skeptical of this type of sensational journalism. I would like to see some followup to this story from other, competing journalists, who hopefully will be objective.
These sorts of stories are very common for Detroit local "news". There are workers who do this, and it sucks, but it definitely isn't even close to the majority.
Remember, lots of cubicle jockeys screw around on the job, as well. Visiting forums, online shopping, going out for long lunches with drinks o' plenty. As an ad sales rep, I saw lots and lots of messing around.
Max, you big hamburger!
