Ugh...this city takes a step forward and then immediately takes 3 steps back when white trash Johnny Doc types like this show their true colors. If Michigan can go right-to-work, we can only hope PA can sometime soon.
Get ready for the deafening silence of the mayor and council not condemning this act.
Sounds like another dirty deed by the non-union scabs dressed up as real workers. When will this mayhem end?

No attempt to even make it look accidental or like the work of a random vandal.Employees arriving for work Dec. 21 said they found the site in disarray. The cab of a large, mobile building crane had been completely burned. Vandals had also used the torch to shear off the steel bolts on nearly a dozen columns. Three others were hacked halfway through at the base, as if someone were trying to cut down a tree.
The 14th police district, John O Connell of the 9th ward democratic committee and many on that powerfully politically connected committee, Derek Green - attorney to Council woman Marion Tasco , Former Ward Leader with retired Council Woman Donna Reed Miller, LeAnna washington , Cherrelle Parker, Cindy Bass , Seth Williams with collusion of Ken Weinstein and Bob Elfant allowed year and years of hazardous building at Devon Townhouses, illegal hid contaminated soil from neighbors and immediate neighbors forced from her home by chemical vapors and dust full of asbestos and silica and proceeded with all manner of hate crimes and civil right violations to attack her to hide to continual crimes on their pet project. Causing destruction of life and permanent illness, always refusing to call haz mat emergency, causing displacement, assault and many other crimes. City Planning and zoning and city council playing politics with human life for the sake of years of illegal construction disaster in their crony game. Unions aren't the only thugs in town and how many politically connected arsons have we seen in this town. Many. Philadelphia is crooked to the top. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was a police or political up against the unions.
I think I need a babblefish to translate that gibberish. Many.
Picking on QUAKERS????? Avowed pacifists?
Whom will the building trades victimize next? Orphans? Children with terminal cases of cancer? Quadriplegics?
This reeks of either desperation or, shudder to think, a renewed sense of cockroach-like invulnerability.
Yet still, the city politicians are mum. Nutter, Mark McDonald, where are you? Too busy defending the Redevelopment Authority's latest moronic act? Ed Rendell, can you show some Emeritus leadership, at least?
Jim Kenney, when you are done combing the dingle-berries from between Pat Gillespie's ample, fleecily lined cheeks (so as to then be better able to dawb tenderly at his Chester County Lazy-Boy induced piles), care to share a comment?

This was the part that caught my eye:
I was about to say the same thing. They're not great at picking battles. Thanks to union protestors I now know where Elixr coffee is (had no idea it existed) and that someone named Ilan Zaken must own property on the 1200 block of Chestnut though where exactly I'm not sure since the "shame" signage was totally unclear. The vandals used an acetylene torch, which requires a skilled operator who must wear a special mask and gloves.
It's almost too cut-and-dried, except there is no evidence such as a dropped wallet or witnesses, let alone video.
The entity that has the most to gain is actually the builder and his estimate of $500K damage seems quite the stretch. A burned out crane cab? Be generous and say $30K. Replace bolts that were cut? Go high with $50K. 3 columns? Go way high with $100K for atotal of 180.
Since that site is so isolated it would have been prudent for the builder to have a surveillance system or even a guard, but instead will clean up on the insurance payout AND do the repair work. Must have been quite the light show also and wouldn't be surprised if the cutting torch was laying around.

Replacing the cut columns may also entail undoing and redoing much of the ironwork attached to those columns. And he didn't say definitely $500k: He estimated that the cost of the damage could run over $500,000.
Your theory is really grasping at straws. Why not just blame Obama and be done with it.
