Default Poquito James Opening on Germantown Ave (Mt Airy)

There's a new place opening on Germantown Ave called Poquito James (near the Sovereign Bank where the old Wired Beans used to be). They are owned by the the same people who run Little Jimmie's bakery/cafe on that same stretch. I believe they will be opening this weekend, or early next week. I really like the food at Little Jimmie's, so this should be a nice addition - and hopefully it will stay in business longer than the Wired Beans did in that area.

I'm excited about this, too! The bakery/ cafe is wonderful so I have high hopes for this spin off. Even better, it's a block from my house. If only they were going to have a liquor license (margaritas!), I'd be in heaven!

maybe they could do a BYOT type of deal where they supply the mix, you bring the goodies.

Just heard food things about Little Jimmie's....never noticed it there driving past all the time. We definitely need more choices so I'm looking forward to it.

Saw they have a sign up now saying they open today. They also have a "menu" up that indicates this will be a place just like Machismo/Qdoba/Chipotle.

Good to know! I think that's always been the plan - quick, casual, but also on the healthier side. (I hope I'm remembering that last bit correctly.) I'm excited for something convenient for lunch and easy dinner options when I'm feeling too lazy to cook.

Stopped in today to get lunch to go. It was empty when I went in but there were a couple other people in there by the time I left. The inside looks really nice - very organized and clean-looking. It's just like a Chipotle or like El Fuego in W. Square West - you choose from a variety of meal types (hard or soft taco, burrito, taco salad, etc.) and then you choose a protein and then toppings. There are also some sides and I think baked goods/ desserts but I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't look at the menu closely enough to say for sure what those offerings are.

I got a chicken burrito and it was pretty good. They have a few tortilla options and also have brown rice, which I appreciated. Overall, I felt it was a good number of options without becoming completely overwhelming and I was able to be as healthy as I wanted to be about it. I got chips with guac as a side and my total was under $12 (no drink since I was coming back home).

I'll be back for sure & I recommend it!

I dunno, I don't think I have a very sophisticated/ picky palate so I'm always hesitant to speak to this stuff I thought it was tasty although maybe could have used a bit more seasoning? I had mild salsa and there was the tiniest kick to my meal (I'm guessing from the fajita-style peppers and onions) that was just perfect for me. I didn't love the guac/ chips side but it wasn't bad.

Went there on their opening night. I liked it. It's a lot like machismo, in food and design. You pick your burrito tortilla and what goes inside. You can also select a few other options other than burritos, but I never go for those. The food tasted good. I also got guacamole and chips, which was ok. The restaurant layout/design is pretty simple, nothing fancy, and they keep it clean and organized.

I will surely go back there. It's a great option for a this area.
