Is there some high point reasonably close to Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill where one can see the Parkway fireworks from afar?

Seems kind of distant for a good view. I'd take bikes across the East Falls bridge and down West River/MLK Drive to just south of Girard Bridge. Avoids the dense crowds and is a picture perfect view of Boathouse Row and back of Art Museum with fireworks just above. My favorite spot to watch from. Ride bikes on bike path. Don't drive!
You can't see anything from Mt. Airy. You are 12 miles from Center City.
If you don`t want to deal with the crowds and still want to see some good fireworks.Try Abington High School. It`s no more then 10 to 15mins from M. Airy.
OK, thanks. For some reason I have a vague recollection of hearing that there was a parking lot in Roxborough or somewhere where you could actually see the fireworks from a distance (I know, a long distance). Maybe we'll try Abington.
"It was one of those moments that would have had dramatic music if my life were a movie, but instead I got a radio jingle for some kind of submarine sandwich blaring over the store's ambient stereo. Man, the movie of my life must be really low-budget." Dead Beat
