Thanks. Will check it out. The place at Gtown/Cresheim doesn't look to have bales of hay but I have seen pumpkins. (Why am I so lazy? I'm 37 weeks pregnant.)

Folks would be best served getting their pumpkins early this year, and they will be costing you more $$$. Many pumpkin farmers lost significant portions of their crop due to the heavy rain in the mid atlantic, so believe it or not, there is a pumpkin shortage in our area (NC to NY). Many farmers replanted and are hoping for a late harvest, but as you can imagine, demand drops dramatically once halloween is over.

Good to know. We actually grew gourds so that part isn't as important for us specifically.

I went to Maple Acres today for apples, and they have lots of different kinds of pumpkins. They had indian corn, and I am almost certain they have hay bales, but I was really looking for apples today and just happened to notice the pumpkins and corn. Good luck!

A little pricey, but it's a cool place. Not to mention, they have a black cat wandering around. (the cat likes to attack dogs so be warned)

Yes. And the guy who brings the stuff to your car is none too pleasant but it definitely filled the need all in one place so figuring in the cost of gas, time, my 10 minute shopping window before I'm exhausted, I was happy to pay what I did!--I have been there but thought it was too small to carry hay.

I did stop at Greensgrow Farms in Kensington this morning after brunch at Green Eggs in No. Libs...they had pumpkins but they actually were more expensive and they haven't gotten in hay yet because it's been too wet.
