    Default Taco Bell/KFC

I thought this rumor deserved its own thread. Taco Bell/KFC? Really? Just last spring 200 people packed a synagogue on a rainy evening to express interest in a food coop. That list has grown to 700 people who want a local cooperatively owned store that sells organic, healthy foods. And now they want to put a fast food restaurant across from a rec center and a school?

If Bunting house is demolished and fast food goes in we lose. If Bunting House stays and the other properties come down for a fast food restaurant we lose. How is a fast food chain with a drive through open until 2am going to improve our quality of life?

I really hope that this is just a rumor and nothing more.

I'd have to guess that the 700 people that want a food co-op is still extremely less than the amount of low income/morbidly obese individuals in a 5 mile radius that would rather patronize a Taco bell.

This was just a rumor but I've heard it from more than a few people. In any event, there is a covert effort to "diversify" the neighborhood from many angles amd make it more "welcoming" and "familiar" to different ethnic types.

If all those people want a co-op, they should make it happen. Wanting and doing are entirely different things. KFC/Taco Bell is putting their money where their mouth is.

Where did this rumor start? Sounds extremely speculative.

I was going to write something more detailed, but you're an idiot.

If 700 people can't get a co-op going, then if say they weren't that interested to begin with.

A few adjacent neighbors have supposedly been contacted about fencing borders.

There's still too much white trash and college kids for an overpriced co-op to work. Roxborough ain't Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill. There's not enough crunchy granola types around. They may have gotten 700 people to say that the idea is "cool" but it won't work. How's the Foodery coming along?

Nothing says "I'm serious about my business" like a facebook page. Especially one with an earth shattering 407 likes and only a handful of posts on it!

Well you're not doing much to quell the rumor by devoting a whole new thread to it...

I just love that greasy chicken I can eat a whole bucket right about now, with some warm bisquits & butter, and a large milk shake to wash it all down.

As usual, the naysayers will be the first to bathe themselves in a 7 layer burrito after smoking some hippie herb while fulfilling a shift at the co-op elsewhere.

I really do like their fried chicken and sides alot better than some fresh need-to-be cooked organic potatoes. I only eat KFC maybe once a year and have noticed when leaving the bucket alone with nonbelievers, then coming back, their face is all shiny with chicken fat.

I believe it was just a rumor. You can ask from the management of KFC.

    Typical FAQ questions for KFC "Management";

    What's taking so long?
    Where's my f****** chicken?
    Where's my f****** bisquits?
