    Default Need Roofing Work ASAP

Hello Everyone. This is my first time on this forum. I hope I can find some usefull information. After ignoring my leaky roof for too long, I finally called my roofer that I have used for 20 years and find out that he is now retired. Needless to say, I am distraught. I would appreciate any referrals anyone could give me. I would like someone who is trustworthy, as I am a senior citizen and am very afraid of being taken advantage of. I don't want someone trying to sell me something I don't need. I live in East Falls. Thank you all in advance.

Thank you. I wonder if he takes calls on weekends. I will try today anyway. Have you had a good experience with him?

An enthusiastic second for Herb. He came out in the rain this week to fix our downspout.

Just wanted to say thanks for the referral to Herb Steinberg. I now have a new roofer. My roof is no longer leaking and my pockets are not empty. (for now, that is, unless something else goes wrong in the old house)

Yelp http://www.yelp.com/philadelphia is always a good place to get opinions. I used Apple a couple of years ago: good quality work, reasonable pricing (discount for cash, which is a tad sleazy but not uncommon), and the workers cleaned up after themselves (which you'd think would be a given, but I've heard stories about debris being tossed onto adjoining units' roofs).

Thanks, but I'm sticking with Herb. Took care of the leak, was very reasonable, and is a very funny guy. Haven't laughed that much in a long time. It was much needed. He also lives in the neighborhood, and was very quick to respond to my roofing problem.

I want to echo the praise of Herb Steinberg. I called him last week. He came to my house in literally 5 minutes. He completed the work the next day without even being paid in advance. When I got home from work, he came back over & picked up the payment. The price was very reasonable. & as an added bonus, our downspout in the back of the house had been loose forever and I never got around to fixing it. He noticed it was loose and fixed it without me even asking.

Do you think Herb would come to the NE?
Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, I realized my skylight is leaking and some of my windows need to be capped and I might as well get a roof coat while I'm at it.
Any other suggestions for NE roofers?

Sheppard Roofing did my complicated mansard roof in Germantown and it does not leak at all. I highly recommend them. They are a pleasure to work with.

Herb will go to NE Philly. The work he did on my roof sure did the trick. Not one drop of water after the hurricane, and I had let that leak go for a long time. Sure glad I went with him.
