    Default Washing Machine Repair

Anyone know of any local repair people? My washing machine stopped spinning. I was going to call Sears, but figured I may do better with someone local. Thanks!

I've had this happen once or twice & all it was was the trigger/sensor pin for the lid was stuck. Open the lid for it & make sure the sensor is closed or play around in there with a knife.

Sorry, other than that I can't really help.

I had a similar problem (Washer was spinning, but not enough to "wring" the clothes out during the spin cycle). Turns out I need to replace the clutch.

I used Jim Garthwaite (215-233-1397), who was recommended on this board. Great local guy - from Glenside, I believe. He did a great job for a fair price. Fixed the washer in one visit.

I used Sears once to fix my dryer, and I feel like they gouged my on the price.

I second Jim Garthwaite. He's great. His wife handles the calls and she is very sweet. Jim has repaired my washing machine, fridge and dishwasher.

    Yep, I third Jim!
I may have actually been the one who rec' him on the board some time back. I don't post here often but read the boards all the time, and I am pretty sure that I did log in to rec' him to someone in the past. He is a super repair man and very nice guy. He has done a bunch of work for me and I would recommend him any day!

    Default washer repair

A few years ago, on the recommendation of a friend, I got Rick Cimini from Shawmont Avenue, he was very good and very reasonable. 215-487-2452 I believe he used to work for one of the big appliance companies and he knows his stuff. Good luck!

I got a few quotes for Mechanical work recently and Sears was insane.
