Default Newly-occupied storefront next to Golden Crust (East Falls)

I was all excited when I drove by because it looked like it might be a new café. I walked by yesterday and saw that it's a Golden Crust expansion.

I thought it was a cafe, just one from the same owner as Golden Crust. The interior design is different than a typical pizza/sub shop. That's at least a hopeful sign Regardless, it's nice to see it being used.

I took the baby down to check out the machinery and the demolition of the APlus, and I was pleasantly surprised at the lushness of the plantings in front of the storefronts on Midvale as we walked by them. It seemed like everyone was trying to outdo each other, or maybe that it was somehow coordinated. I also noticed that Golden Crust seemed the most riotous. now putting two and two together, it seems that the owner of Golden Crust is aesthetically minded and likes plantings. I hope it spreads even further.

    Default Color Coordination

We are lucky to have Sharon Jaffe in the neighborhood and as a friend to the Riverfront Business District. She did the design for the EFDC/Furlong office. She then provided advice to Faye at Golden Crust on the color choice. Faye wanted to coordinate with Manana's colors. I think it really works well. Sharon is very talented and giving to the community. (ps, we are bugging Faye to start cooking her native Persian food to serve at the expanded cafe. If you go in there, tell her that you want it to... let's see if we can drum up the demand!)
