Default CHAIN SAW Tests - East Falls Fire Department

Is anybody else living on Ridge Avenue disturbed by the early morning (as early as 6:00 AM - even on Weekends) chain saw tests that the East Falls Fire Department conducts?

I've walked over there to talk to the head of the staff there - and they said they can't change their schedule - but this is a serious nuisance and noise ordinance violation - not to mention common sense issue. An entire block of people waking up to chain saw noises has to have some psychological effects over time.

I've tried calling the Fire Commissioner of Philadelphia but have not gotten through. If anyone wants to call him to ask him to help come up with a compromise, please call Richard Davison (215) 681-1300.

The oncoming shift has to make sure their equipment is fueled and in proper working order.

While it may be a nuisance, standing on the roof of a smoke filled dwelling or next to a tree on top of an occupied vehicle with a saw that won't start would be much more than just a nuisance.

Agreed. It's not like Ridge is quiet to begin with...
